  1. More of Brie and Bleu. Mr. Beers is the older black cat ?‍⬛️.
  2. When in doubt, crack open a '40... well done.
  3. I super glue a plastic plate to the bottom of the bottle of anything I don't want to spill. I once spilled a can of zip kicker on the dining room table, it ate the plastic Xmas table cloth and I got some on a built chassis. I keep all my CA glues in an old potato salad container so they can't fall over.
  4. I'm helping someone with a 5.3 LS swap Miata. We took the stock rear and gas tank out of it a few weeks back.
  5. I had 5 of them, now all I see is 3. Names are Tippy (ears are mostly white), Red (lots of red on the underside) and Dorian (looks like a primered model car body). The one I called Shade is gone. This one had a long tail that acted as an umbrella on rainy days.
  6. Those are brass brads I picked up either at a hardware store or a crafts store. I have been using them for around 15 years. The outer diameter is around ,020" and the heads are fairly small.
  7. I did mine box stock-ish and it went together well. I would like to do another one.
  8. My last '32 coupe I used .032" brass wire to mount the headlights on. Real simple and strong. Here's a couple of shots from a show a few years ago.
  9. New formula Duplicolor sprays fog quite a bit for me. The Tamiya TS line, very slightly. I have been able to polish out the car touch up paints with success.
  10. More progress. Going back and forth with the '56 Ford figure 8 car. Wheels and tires are Ron Coon supplied. The kit hood recesses are filled in. Some of the interior is complete.
  11. Word. I've never seen one that I couldn't polish out. YMMV, experiment on scrap if you have doubts.
  12. Start with something like 3200 grit and see if takes out the roughness. Always wet and I add dish soap to the water that i dip the cloths into. I use the cloths over many times. I wash them after each use and let them dry. I have the DM 9000 detail master set. I'm on about my 3rd set in 25 years. I immediately cut ✂️ them into 4 pieces and mark the grit on the backs. When one is beat up, i toss it.
  13. I was working on my current '56 Ford that had no instructions. I remembered I had this one I built around 1996. Likely Testors silver spray, the rest is brush painted.
  14. Absolutely. There are many a naysayer that says that you can't. Try it on your spoons or some scrap.
  15. I find that deeper details may be conducive to using an airbrush... yeah I know. I have 3 or 4 of them that are used only for shooting nail polish...
  16. Another one of our departed Chloe. She loves wash baskets, dirty or clean. She would go nuts for towels when we came in from the pool. She liked hair care products, soaps and lotions.
  17. I like the printed radiator a ton. I generally make my own from Evergreen stock, I use siding stock for the core. An electric fan, I pirate those from stock car kits, VCG Resins has some nice ones too.
  18. Simply exceptional all things considered ?
  19. Rear ham is installed. Tires and wheels are from Ron Coon. Tire transfers are from Shabo.
  20. I dug it out again. I have to find some lost parts that may be in another build box. Distributor is wired. Took the chrome off the bumpers and added bars to them. Made up aluminum light covers and rear spoiler. Radiator is done. Made side tanks from styrene. Inlet and outlets are 3/32" aluminum tube.
  21. Yes, Bob Dudek. I would always seek him out at shows. I also picked up lots he had for the Revell '49 Mercury.
  22. There was a parts store that used a '69 or '70 as a parts chaser. It was a factory 4-speed AFAIK. The driver said it had a 429 in it. When I raced the '72 Torino stock car, we would seek out the older 429 engines, they had the better heads and a higher compression ratio over later ones.
  23. I would polish out the worst and then clear coat it.
  24. Those are AMT '56 Ford seats. At least the custom ones. The printed wheels look good. I'm a junkie for bare steel wheels, I grab and save any that come along. I also like the hair pins, very traditional. I also pin almost everything using .031" and .047" stock, mostly stainless (McMaster Carr pins) or brass rod. Low-stress items, I use plastic stock.
  25. Thanks. I will check out Resins. But... heck, I'll build it as a '70. I saw a couple of those cars with 4 speeds.
