  1. It depends on the engine. I've seen the 289 and Ford 427 for $10 at swap meets, but the more desirable hemis/409's and what not can go as high $20-$25.
  2. So are you still planning on that insane blown/2xturbo'd SBC?
  3. Wow. That looks great. I'm using the AMT 2JZ in a kitbash, and got excited when I saw this. Until I realized the Tamiya is 1/24.
  4. I'm looking forward to seeing the decals for this.
  5. Real nice work. It looks very authentic.
  6. No that's not exactly what I said Tom. I said, children will be interested in what their parents are. It's a bonding mechanism. I have no interest in wood working, but 10 year old Robby spent countless hours in Dad's basement workshop, sanding and spending time with him. I think today's youth are too used to instant gratification to be interested in something that takes practice and time to learn. My son watched a pinstriper at a local car show. He was real jazzed about it and asked, so I got him some brushes and some paint and a car window to paint on. His interest sagged to zero when it was clear it wasn't as easy as it looked. Yep what he said.
  7. A great hot rod nailhead in a kit is just making me grin. It's about time.
  8. Wow. I wonder if there will be a coupe and sedan following the roadster? That looks awesome!
  9. I'd call that a sleeper for sure. Nice work.
  10. Frankly guys, I think the model companies have pretty much figured out that going for the younger crowd is a waste of time. The current generation of teens have been raised on the internet, Xbox, cell phones and instant gratification is too firmly a part of the mentality, for something that requires patience and practice to become important to them. Now before folks get up on their high horse with all their stories on how their children build, I'll just say this. Your children's interest is a direct reflection of your own. I have two near grown sons and the one who does build, only get's involved when I'm really into my own project and it becomes something we spend time on together. When my life creeps in and my building time dwindles, his interest lags and he's back to whatever computer game interests him. Now that's not to say that it won't become an interest as he gets older, like it has for many of us. I sincerely hope it does.
  11. That is VERY pretty. Would have loved some larger photos.
  12. My favorite of the bad Revell kits are the IMSA Monza/Mustang II/Sunbird that shared everything except the body. Identical chassis, engine, interior.
  13. I didn't realize you'd already posted this pic. I must have missed it. And the Impala above with the mattresses is from Saturday Night Fever.
  14. From what I have seen of Russian roads in all the dash cam clips, it's safer on the sidewalks, and no surprise that civil authorities haven't put up barriers to keep cars off.
  15. This is something I figure out early in the test fitting process. It gets added to my build notes, so I know what needs to be painted and where. I ONLY paint what is necessary.
  16. True. That's why man invented hub caps. Use the Audi parts, but disguise them with some creative trimming on the PT wheels.
  17. It's great that you are learning new things, doing modifications, chassis swaps, roll cages and the like, but lets not forget the basics. Clean model building. Like this seam for instance.
  18. It's got a good 70's look. Keep it going.
  19. That's not an exhaust pipe. That's the afterburner.
  20. The wheels are a huge improvement from the stock/kit pieces. Nice work.
  21. I'd say your right on all counts. Looking forward to seeing your work.
  22. Something like this is generally perfect. I've been using an 8 footer for a long time now. https://www.schooloutfitters.com/catalog/product_info/pfam_id/PFAM15062/products_id/PRO32663?sc_cid=Google_NOR-NBT3060&adtype=pla&kw=&CAWELAID=1238961313&CAGPSPN=pla
  23. Very cool. Looking forward to seeing it completed.
  24. Gremiln. Recent film with a limited release but a popular actor.
  25. The first time someone hurts themselves on the corners now jutting into the pool, they will rethink the design.
