  1. More of a hippo than a rhino. Very interesting though
  2. Pretty ambitious. Have you done much of that sort of stuff? Pat, that is some pretty impressive engineering. That's gotta be the shortest torque tube I've ever heard of. Matt, that is a great kit choice.
  3. I like the spokes. Keep going on these, but I advise you to put two away and just work two. Having too many irons in the fire just slows you down.
  4. I was able to find this. https://plajapan.com/pr/2010_Gundam_Marker_Brochure-A4-English.pdf I was able to wipe it off with a damp cloth. I think it's just india ink or something similar.
  5. My son has been building these kits recently. Remarkably detailed and intricate little things. He also bought this panel line marker. It does a brilliant job on panel lines on those little robots. I'm going to try this out on some upcoming projects before paint, and see how it does.
  6. I did the list mostly as just add a way of keeping track of ideas. And knowing what else I have helps that because I always know what I have handy.
  7. I'm left wondering. Why the wicked angle of the engine? Don't carbs have to be somewhere close to level?
  8. x2.
  9. So the last couple of days I've been working on a list of all my kits. Divide up the list into trade stock, WIP's, parts kits and kits to keep for the future. This will also be where I jot down ideas for builds as I get them. Just for the tally, I have 60 kits. It's not a great amount compared to some, but it's a manageable number and it gives me plenty of options. But much to my surprise, I have 13 WIP's. This is kind of depressing. I think I was happier not knowing. I'm going to have to get on the stick, and get some of these completed. Anyone else keep track of the stash this way?
  10. I'd scrap the slicks and go with the big & littles from a Revell deuce kit. Or find a set of more narrow cheater slicks.
  11. I'm going to remove the side trim, door locks. badges and scripts. I will be using the bumpers, at least for the Cannonball version. I'm planning on Testors One Shot Root Beer. However I'm still looking for some drift-style decals. The decals will likely have an impact on color choice. As for that rear window pillar, I'm kinda torn. Lets face it the Pacer is sort of a ?! !? design, that we either like, or hate. That silly pillar is part of that, and I'm not sure I want to change it. More soon. Thanks for your input guys.
  12. In past runs we had a rule that you had to enter with a model less than 25% completed. However, Tim did not state anything like that in the rules, so I guess it's up to him. I am enjoying that Nova build though.
  13. Excellent! Thanks Richard, more soon. Nothing exciting happening right now. I'm just filling the area between the chassis and interior so you can't see clear to the other side. Then the chassis will get some primer and cleaned up some more.
  14. Very nice work. I like it a lot.

    70 Cuda

Oh man, thanks so much. I've been pondering over what tires to use for my upcoming Cuda build. That will give me the exact look I want. Genius.
  16. Thanks Jon. Your not racing this year?
  17. I can't bring myself to sell a completed model, much less destroy it on purpose. But whatever trips your trigger I guess.
  18. Let Wagonmaster know so that he can change his list on the first post. As for the engine fit - why am I NEVER that lucky?
  19. Not in about twenty five years. But they did my favorite cover of Ballroom Bash.
  20. Yeah, Make sure your glass fits with the roll cage. That was a issue I ran into with the Stude and I'll be sweating with the Pacer. Welcome Kieth. We get guys joining all the way into late summer and fall, so you are plenty early enough.
  21. The hard part for me is going to be the roll cage. I'm going to do a six point cage (not legal for sanctioned racing, but who says it has to be a legal drift car?). I'll make the hoop as tight to the inside of the body as possible, two angled door bars into the footwell, and the rear points will follow the roof and then angle to follow the c-pillars. I also intend to tint the rear windows to keep it as stealthy as possible. Then I need to find some drift car style decals.
  22. Nicholas, you are getting a lot of great advice so far. Stick with it, take your time, and don't get discouraged. You will build each model better than the last.
  23. That looks great Al. Nice work.
