  1. And for your building pleasure, MPC released a '76 and '77 coupe with the inline six and a '78 coupe with the V8. Also AMT released the '77 wagon, both in a stock and custom version. I'm currently building the wagon. All in all it's not a bad kit.
  2. I'd very likely dump everything in a sink of hot dishwater and throw away the box and instructions, if they looked soiled in any way.
  3. Okay. I see your point. Very nice work. It looks quite authentic.
  4. A very nice build. I love that kit. Excellent work.
  5. Wow. Not sure how I missed this. This is something I might actually shell out it's asking price for.
  6. Man, that is a sexy car. If you think the Cobra moniker is overused, how many different Spyders have we had?
  7. It needs a car.
  8. I know what you mean. Sometimes a build that has soooooo much modification and fabrication, it can be very daunting and frustrating. When that happens I tend to just find a model in the stash that is simpler to get me back into the right mind set. This is one of the main reasons the Cannonball is, and always has been, an 11 month CBP.
  9. Yeah, that's my concern as well.
  10. Well, I will say that the problem should be addressed in some way. Whether it requires the mold be repaired or replaced. I'm just worried that if this becomes an issue where it cannot be fixed at a cost the company finds acceptable, that they might just truly scrap the molds where we'll never see the kit again. That would be a shame.
  11. That was my question also. Great looking Chevy man. I like it.
  12. I'd agree with that. Lets face it, if the Cannonball was being run today, all the racers would be the most boring, unassuming cars you could imagine. As modelers we're allowed the freedom of our imagination and given a little "creative license" when it comes to picking our racer. Matt, I would not change your entry. Like my Pacer, your Caprice would stick out on the modern highway, but no one would imagine they were capable of 140 mph. The same goes for most of the racers. The rules we're using this year are as follows. If we try to over-think this too much, we'll suck the fun right out of it. 1. Take a car that is not normally considered fast. Make it fast without altering its appearance that might let on that it's fast. 2. If the car IS normally thought of as fast, it should be in such poor condition/appearance, that no one would give it a second glance. That's my $.02.
  13. No. Never. I've been building off and on since the seventies. Flash, mold lines and ejector pin marks are just part of the experience. The idea of retiring a perfectly good kit because of such things is ludicrous.
  14. Fantastic work man. I expected no less.
  15. Starting to come together. I'm starting on the body, getting it ready for paint. Primer soon.
  16. Someone needs to get that going in resin. I'd do every model with one.
  17. Perfect. Very well done.
  18. I'd like to know where that dizzy came from.
  19. Wow this is looking great. Talk about having the guts to cut. I will be following from now on.
  20. I spotted this at Billetproof recently. And some other stuff. This sat outside my local shooting range/ gun mecca for the longest time.
  21. Yes, the original engine was an I6, so there is room for it between the firewall and radiator support. But just barely. There is a pic of the engine in place on the first page of this thread. It has taken a good bit of work though to make everything else fit around it.
  22. Thanks Jesse. I had two of those, but used them both.
  23. As a real Mopar enthusiast, I should love this show. But Mark Worman is such a DB that I can't stand it.
