  1. Welcome. I'm also a former Islander. Raised in Bay Shore.
  2. Yep, it has been done. However big tubes running through the interior are hard to disguise.
  3. Why even bother posting this without pics? Why waste my time?
  4. Niko, I like the Trabant idea. Have you considered doing a centrifugal supercharger instead of the turbo? A lot less real estate required, The Pacer is coming along well. Chassis and engine in paint. I'm going to get some carbon fiber decal for the valve cover. Currently, working on the roll cage and center console. It's going to be a real challenge. More soon.
  5. Chassis and engine in paint. Currently, working on the roll cage. More soon.
  6. Again, that is a 1/25 scare kit.
  7. The way it's sitting though, I bet the chassis and floor panels are pretty much toast.
  8. I rather liked it in the blue color. It had more character in my opinion.
  9. I don't see anything wrong with that. But eventually we're gonna have to stick with the plan if we're gonna get better at this.
  10. I agree, sometimes it can. This 1/25 scale V10 looks just fine in this 1/24 Camaro, but it only works because of the size of the V10. That doesn't often work out. . I think so too. However doing the opposite, it where we tend to have issues. For the most part, a 1/25 scale engine looks decidedly small in a 1/24 scale body. Which brought me to this subject.
  11. Very slick. Looks great.
  12. Glad to see this one get an update. Great engine work.
  13. Anyone besides me feel like this model both in 1:1 and 1/24, the wheel base is too short? Like the rear wheel opening should be moved back three inches or so?
  14. Based on your previous work, I'd say you won't have much trouble.
  15. That is a 1/25 scale kit.
  16. I agree. I think it's my biggest issue as builder. Weathered/dirty vehicles can be a bit of a crutch, if you are doing it rather than throw a gloss paint job and risk the pitfalls that go with it. I know I have.
  17. Yes. kit engines. Preferably whole.
  18. If you have kits in 1/24 kit bashing can be problematic. The Tom Daniels Street Fighter Chevy on my shelf has a very bad small block as well as the Badman '55. So lets throw around some ideas to get some other options going. In your opinion, what are the best looking engines in 1/24 scale? I'm kinda partial to the Chevy big blocks in the Monogram '39 Chevys, as well as the inline six in the Monogram '53 Chevy coupe.
  19. Ugh. This AMT 2JZ is just more problems than it's worth. The belt assembly shown is AMT's idea of AC compressor, power steering, and alternator. Just some round blob on the pulley. I've had to dive into my parts bin to get some decent looking pieces.
  20. I know you've got a deuce grill for this, but with the model T style spring perch, I can't help but think a cut down model A grill would look perfect.
  21. That is some top notch work. It's got a good grimy feel that makes me want to look for my Lava soap.
