  1. Some plain-jane steelies with poverty caps would go perfect with that George.
  2. I've got the red glass version. I'd love to find a clear windshield. I guess I'll have to wait until the Bad Actor/Quicksilver versions are re-released.
  3. I think at the very least a CBP would be in order.
  4. Regular craft store acrylics thinned with water will do fine for washes. Same with chalks. Standard art pastels.
  5. As I mentioned the AMT kit's engine is not mechanically correct from it's original design. If you like the engine I'd look into some of the Tamiya Supra kits. I'm just using this one, because it's what i have, Jason that is looking awesome. Gonna add a wash or some chalks?
  6. I kinda like kit's like this. Seems silly I suppose. But when I get a great kit, I find more difficult to do something like this to it. These old and comparatively poorly executed are perfect for beating up/weathering/cutting on because if I screw it up, all I'm out is the cost of a kit ($8 from a swap meet) and I haven't ruined a great kit. The OP is entitled to his opinion, and since he's been out of the game a while, it's mostly based on ignorance. I for one am glad Round2 is repopping these no matter how lame & old they are. And Frank, if this kit upset you, stay away from the AMT 66 Mustang Coupe that just got repopped. That one might cause a cerebral hemorrhage.
  7. Wonderfully done. My hats off to you.
  8. Quite right. A 2JZ Toyota inline 6. However the AMT designers built it backward (mixed up input & output on the turbos) so some modification was required. The cone airfilter is a CrazyJim resin piece. More soon.
  9. The Revell '67 Pro street Chevelle would be a good donor for engine/chassis/wheels
  10. If the doors are likely ruined anyway, then a trusty chain saw will get you in post haste.
  11. Some paint. The engine is just sitting there, not correctly on the mounts so yes, it's a little cockeyed, but will be straightened during assembly. My next project is to come up with some of those tube connecting rubber sleeves for the turbo set up, and some detail painting. Likely use some heat shrink and aluminum tape. More soon.
  12. It's the AMT Supra 2JZ. The kit designers got the plumbing backward so I've had to get creative. Per the schematic the point where part 62 meets the turbo is the cold air intake. So the same should be true on the other side. Technically part 85 should be the output to the intercooler, but they have the air cleaner on it instead. More soon. Here's the schematic of the real engine.
  13. So far its looking good for me to make the contest/show.
  14. I'm real glad to see this thread among the living again. Here's a few that I've done since. '34 Ford shop truck. '37 Ford Cabrio Chevy II. With a name like "Rat Packer" it kinda had to get ratted.
  15. Some updated chassis and engine shots.
  16. Hey, that looks top notch. Very impressive.
  17. Please. No. You can get x-acto knives or some version there-of, at any Harbor Freight, Northern Tools type store. Use the right tool for the job so that you don't have to repair later. Also, you might want to consider working at your skill level. It's fine to challenge yourself, but do that sort of stuff on some old junky kits or rebuilds. Check out the article in my signature line called Walk then Run.
  18. Well at first they are all in holders and containers, and then for a while they are all over the place, and then they are all in holders and containers, and then for a while they are all over the place, etc, etc.
  19. I dig the custom paint. And I still contend your interiors are some of the best I've seen.
  20. Great stance, plenty of rubber, good work. I like it.
