  1. How about a muscle car?
  2. Superior work. A great replica.
  3. Very nice. If I was going to build a cool 4x4 with a serious budget it would probably look a lot like that.
  4. Yeah. I know. I was kidding.
  5. I could definitely see myself street rodding this one. Even if it is a four door.
  6. I've built a couple Mad Max-esque models in the past and have another in the works. They are a heck of a lot of fun to build. It's very freeing to not have to worry about having the "perfect" finish.
  7. DAVE! Hey man, welcome back. Glad to see you.
  8. OUTSTANDING WORK! I love everything about it. And Harry is quite correct, you are miles from semi-moderate.
  9. I saw B.B. and Lucille back in '96(ish) at the House of Blues in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. It was sort of an open mic night type thing, and a host of notables was there. It was an amazing experience.
  10. Here's some pics I found on the 1:1 Hot Wheels Twin Mill. I think this is very doable. Remove the gearbox from the bell housing. Add a sealed whos-a-whatsis gearbox and a transmission to that. I'll build something similar someday.
  11. Okay. Unlocked by request. I'll be posting more soon.
  12. Thanks guys. This weekend I'll be removing the aircraft carburator and adding a plenum and twin dominator carbs, which I have seen done on some automotive Allison applications. I'll also be reversing the headers and creating a front fenderwell dump.
  13. That is a top shelf model. Very well done. Cool way to merge the paint and the decals.
  14. To actually answer your question. I have used both. The left item is definitely more accurate, but I've had difficulty gluing the top to the bottom and not accidentally glue up a hole for the wires . And are hard to paint for the same reason. The right one is very simple, and in a car where the dizzy might not be all that visible due to large air cleaners or the like, they are ideal. I have made my own versions of it from scrap styrene.
  15. Yeah that's got a lot of possibilities.
  16. It's gonna be a shame to put a model body on this.
  17. This is the AMT kit.
  18. Well which is it, a Trans Am or Camaro? Good looking model Willard. Decals?
  19. I think the amount of shop trucks, work trucks, and weathered beaters that will be made from this kit will be staggering. In my opinion, it is not an aesthetically appealing truck. The kit does look great though. I'm looking forward to what you guys do with it.
  20. Wow.:-)
  21. You should consider getting a mold made of this for resin casting. I would happily pay for that. My roadster would look great with that.
  22. Traditionally the Cannonball community builds have leaned more towards mechanically possible builds. But this is more due to the builders and their personal standards, than any written and recognized rule. I don't see an issue with what you want to do, but remember there is a builders poll at the end of this, and something cartoony or mechanically impossible would likely not get much attention from the voters. But if you want a final vote, contact Wagonmaster who's running the CBP this year and get his position.
  23. Suspension work. I added some coil overs to help with the weight of that beast of a motor. The engine has been modified to get rid of the aircraft gearbox and added a modified tranny. I'm going to come up with a scoop over the carb, I'm not sure how yet. It's a little forward for the standard Mopar scoops to look correct, so I'll come up with an alternative. It sits a little high but due to the size of the motor, it would be double tough to get it lower. More soon.
  24. Here's the the Chevelle in gloss grey. It will get BMF and stripes and then a coat of Testors dullcoat. I'm just going for a nice shelf model here. Nothing fancy. I may strip and repaint the grill bumpers in a matte silver to stay with the theme.
