  1. That looks terrific. Looking forward to seeing some more.
  2. It's a very decent kit and has a very good 312 y-block with optional Paxton. My only gripe is how poorly the interior fits.
  3. Well ummm.....................you see.....................I umm. I traded it for a Bad News Daniels '60 Chevy. The body was pretty warped and I had a fella in my club looking for one to kibash, so off it went. However if I come across another that;'s in better shape, I'll certainly give it a shot. I've found a website that does quite a variety of decals for it.
  4. Don't sweat it Cory. We learn as we go. When I was a beginner I made the exact opposite mistake.
  5. I'm terribly curious where you're going with this. Looking good so far.
  6. I gotta agree Joe.
  7. No reason. I just wanted to know so that I can ignore your posts in the future.
  8. John, are you also the sort of person that likes to correct people's spelling and grammar for no particular reason?
  9. We'd love to see some pics man.
  10. Here's the new one which we'll see in both the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and the Suicide Squad, which will follow. It looks like they merged the Tumbler idea with the Batman and Burton Batmobile (which is my personal fav).
  11. My apologies. I didn't mean to suggest it the work didn't require an amazing amount of talent and skill. But it was only metal, rubber and cloth. There's a lot more different materials in use today.
  12. No. I think we are limited by our engineering. Crash safety is paramount, as is gas mileage. Getting artistic with a modern car isn't as easy as it used to be. Parts that were once metal and chrome are plastic and painted. Adding trim adds weight. You can't even find a factory two tone paint job anymore, because of the steps involved to make it happen aren't easy to do on an assembly line anymore due to automation. Mileage, cost and comfort are now more important than aesthetics to the average consumer. If the K car proved anything, it proved that.
  13. Our definition of "custom" must be very different. What you described is what I would do to a vehicle before I started to customize it. I think cost is a big part of that. These days a paint job starts at about $3k. Assuming you have the skills to chop your 2014 Ford Fusion, what would the cost be for modified glass? All the plastic pillar moldings in the interior would have to be altered or replaced by something hand fabricated. There's a lot involved inside and out.
  14. Way to be johny-on-the-spot Ken. You stepped up, took some responsibility for your fellow man, and very likely saved his life. I commend you. Most people these days would be standing around snapping photos. Ata boy.
  15. I heard a commentator at a auction mention that the car was one of six known to exist. Which got me thinking, are there any cars that just don't exist at all anymore?
  16. First of all, you cannot compare the cars of today and the cars from the 50's. They are as different as the Space Shuttle was different than the Spirit of St. Louis. And the same goes for the people that work on them. The days of the shade tree mechanic are loooong gone. I can't even change the serpentine belt on my car. There's just too much involved. Second. Cars today are so terribly uninteresting and uninspiring that they just don't fire the imagination. No one looks at their Sentra and says, "Wonder how it would look chopped."
  17. Where are you posting the images? Photobucket, Fotki?
  18. Yeah, I was thinking about splicing in the opening from the Cuda, to avoid the issue, but the Charger has those hood lines that I don't want to mess with more than I have to. It will be a time consuming modification, but I think it will just make the build.
  19. I've no problem with the stripes and I like the look, but they need to be on both sides.
  20. Thanks. I'll get back to the build soon but I doubt I'll do the white again. Flames are a solid maybe though, because I just scored another couple sets of those decals.
  21. Here's my choice for the scoop. It just fits the car the best. I'll modify it to channel air onlyto the opening in the hood.
  22. Jantrix

    Mustang-low

Very nicely done. I really appreciate your choice of wheels.
  23. I have a long Rubbermaid box. I fold up an old t-shirt to hold the model on all four sides and I lay nothing on top. Just the box lid. Drive carefully and you should be fine.
