  1. I love that this guy is calling this pre-painted, screw together die cast a "pro-built" model! Especially with the poorly mounted front bumper. But seriosuly folks, it's not a bad shelf model, I bought one to decorate my cubicle at work. Except for the muscle car style wheels and tires, that do nothing for the model, it's pretty nice. On the other hand, those wheels and tires would look awesome on any 1/24 scale muscle car. I'd love a 40/41 Chevy. Chevys are my favorites of this era.
  2. The name of this game is "test fit". Enamels do not dry well in a humid atmoshere. I recommend switching to Testors One Shot or Model Master lacquers or an auotmotive lacquer like Duplicolor or Plasticote. Use the same brand clears. As for the big cans, I've not had any luck with any brand but Krylon. I've used their primer under all sorts of paint with zero issues.
  3. Man, that is a great set of models. I would not have had the stick-to-it-ivness to finish all the Camaros. Well done.
  4. I'd love to know how you accomplished the intake, getting those ports so uniform and even. Awesome work.
  5. Well, the owner of this kit that I was originally building it for has arrived back in the family landscape, so I guess I have to finish it for him. So this will have to be stripped and repainted in the appropriate color. More soon on the '49 though.
  6. First off, that's very cool work. Nicely done. But just FYI, even if the train was going just 20 miles an hour, it would push that car hundreds of feet down the track.
  7. Most impressive. You do fine work.
  8. I'm working on another build for a while. I'm still about the color of the Pacer. I jump back and forth on saphire blue and rootbeer brown which of course delays any kind of paint work in the interior. More soon.
  9. I dig it Mike. Great color, great stance.
  10. All the Duplicolor stuff does that. Its because it's an automotive lacquer I believe. It sure does lay down nicely though. I think its because it sprays out in a fan shape rather than a cone like most sprays, it's easier to get an even coat. Looking good Rich.
  11. Okay, based on what others are posting, here's what I have to contribute.
  12. No way. Cowl induction is way too overused, I try to avoid typical like the plague. I think Eelco has an excellent point though.
  13. Please explain what you mean by Kustom Kulture. Like hot rod, street rod, rat rod, custom, they mean different things to different people.
  14. I am kicking around that very thing with the shaker, but for a drag car I want something that pulls more air. So I'm still looking at options. Due to space considerations there's not much room for motor mount bushings. I cant really raise the engine much and I'm too far along to lower it. It is what it is. Thanks much for the compliments guys. More soon.
  15. Averages range for left handedness from 6-9% of the global populations. That's an awful lot of backwards people.
  16. Yep. I think Tom's on the right track.
  17. Well modelers don't. Us plastic mechanics don't get much respect there.
  18. Yep. That's all I intended.
  19. It's scoop decision time. Any input is welcome. These are my current options. If you have another idea, please feel free to voice it. 1st the classic Mopar. I'd probably want to narrow this some as it would pull a lot of air for a very small opening in the hood.
  20. Update. Engine pretty close to complete. Still working on the exhaust, and gotta scratch a fuel pump and then I'll plumb the fuel lines.
  21. Great stuff!
