  1. Jon, its always a treat to see your work. You guys should see this in the flesh. Cliff....................WOW! Just beautiful.
  2. Astounding work. You must have an assembly line.
  3. I have cut them, thusly. Cover the whole part in masking tape. Mark your cut on the tape. Set the glass on a piece of foam or wadded up cloth to support the part. Cut with a good sharp zona saw. Sand the cut edges before removing the tape. Good luck.
  4. No, I don't think he is. Likely he is a returning modeler. This some very clean work. I'm really enjoying this build of one of my favorite kits. Keep it going Steven.
  5. This is a very well executed custom. It looks great. The forward leaning grill throws me, but it's got its own style that's for sure.
  6. If this is the Revell '40, the flathead is really well done. If this is the AMT '40, it comes with a very hard to find nailhead. The nailhead might not be the most detailed or well cast, the coolness factor is there. But the other guys are right, you need to let us know your design plans or we have no idea what to advise.
  7. I once encountered a beautifully customized Hupmobile sedan at a World of Wheels type car show. The owner/builder was there and I asked him, why customize such a rare car? He said it was about cost and availability. I asked the same question to a fella with a '66 Mustang fastback who had replaced the entire drive-train and suspension with something modern. He said it was about drive-ability. They both wanted to enjoy their cars, to drive them. And I agree with both. My favorite muscle car is the '66-67 Charger. If I was given one today and the $$ to build it, it would have a modern 6.1 hemi and modern suspension tomorrow. However, If someone gave me a low mileage hemi car, I could not in good conscience do the same thing to it. I would sell it in a heartbeat to buy something I could drive without the guilt.
  8. There are as many ways to chop a top, as there are cars. We need pics and a description of the car in question in order to give you the correct advice.
  9. Don't you believe it. Were I so inclined and you willing to sell, that '40 Ford you did earlier this year, I would happily pay the cost of a kit for.
  10. Tom you are not invisible. Most people do not respond to every person that comments on their work. It's nothing personal.
  11. Well we know the kit comes with optional dual paxtons, so I'm betting there was at some point a salt flats racer version of this that had the supercharger intakes poking from the front of the hood or some sort of scoop.
  12. I've heard from several people on the HAMB that Gene Winfield will teach just about anyone that walks into his shop.
  13. Yep, thats the way. Cut it out on a piece of glass.
  14. Thanks anywho Jim, we're gonna do it slow over then next couple of weeks. Yeah, I hear crickets too.
  15. This is looking mighty impressive.
  16. Thanks guys. Now........................who wants to help me move?
  17. I'm interested in the vehicle............but not THAT interested.
  18. I think your idea is very cool. Question. The tub looks too far forward to the point where the front seat will be very close to the dash. How does that look to you?
  19. x2. Well done!
  20. Happily to move it to a new place. We finally found a rental house in our neighborhood that suits our needs. I'll have a hobby room all to myself. However as it is anytime you move, there's always a ton of stuff to do before you can break out a project again. A lot of work ahead before the fun can begin. I'll post some pics as soon as the workshop is set up. Likely no internet for a while, but I'm sure you guys will get along fine without lil 'ol me. Be cool.
  21. Agreed, please check the "Walk Then Run" link in my signature line below. It's not wise to take on too much too soon. Learn the basics first.
  22. Was there ever a kit of this available or something similar. Check this out at the 1 minute mark if you'r unfamiliar. http://youtu.be/GvggLBuonVc
