  1. Lots of great info here.
  2. I don't think you understood the question but, whatever.
  3. Congrats man! Life as you know it is over!
  4. Simple question. What styling treatments done to automobiles (stock or custom!) throughout their history struck a chord in you the most? Feel free to include mechanical innovations as well as design stylings, if you are more of an "anything, as long as it goes fast" kinda person. For me, it's - 1. Fastbacks 2. Fat fenders 3. A raked stance.
  5. That's what I read when I was researching for this build. I don't think this is anything a sane person would drive. I found very few 1:1 examples in my Google searching.
  6. Now if you really want to make a statement, maybe a quarter elliptical front end.
  7. Words fail me. But his could easily be used in Harry's Real or Model thread.
  8. This is very cool. I don't usually peruse the truck section but I'll be following this one.
  9. Life in general seems to get in the way of building so I never seem to get there. I plan my builds WAY in advance, so if I do get frustrated with one build I just grab up another.
  10. Very well done. Has a good authentic look.
  11. Krylon Nickle with a small block? What kinda wacky color is that? :D I've used that paint, it comes out very flat, what did you use for a clear? The later model rear fenders are a great idea. You really should have masked off when you painted that beltline trim though.
  12. Sorry man, I'll try to do better next time.
  13. I was digging this until I saw the bolts throught the hood. Remember 1 millimeter is roughly eqivilent to 1 scale inch. Which would make those bolts the size of an exhaust pipe.
  14. Try some matte (flat) clear. It may flatten out those touch ups to the point where it's not so obvious. To prevent this from happening again in the future, apply a coat of clear after the mask is applied. This will seal the edges of the mask and help prevent bleed-under.
  15. Ray. Another method for filling the section gap is by using very thin styrene rod and Tenax liquid cement. It melts the plastic rod into the gap and effectively welds the parts together. Then you just sand down the rod and then check for bad spots. You'll use a tenth of the filler you are using now.
  16. Somewhow I missed this fantastic built! Thoroughly enjoying this.
  17. It looks like a Duplicolor paint I have as well. It's one of those Spectracolor three can sets. I'm going to be using mine soon.
  18. Currently moving to a new place. My '49 will be top priority when I crack open my tool box for the first time.
  19. Fred, that's very well done. Plenty of originality. Nice work.
  20. Very cool. I'll be eagerly watching this one.
  21. For the metalized colors I'd check the Krlyon Hammered Finish line.
  22. Loving this.
  23. I should have said razor saw rather than call out a brand name. The finest blade (most teeth) you can get your hands on would be best in my opinion. 54 TPI (teeth per inch) would do ya fine I think.
  24. Jim, your work just keeps getting better and better. I'm gonna have to step up my game at contests if I'm gonna compete with you.
