  1. You guys are making me depressed. I'm on my 22nd straight day of work with no break in sight. I haven't had much time to get the 'ol desk dirty. The OT/DOTis pretty groovy though.
  2. I've always just used a little silver paint.
  3. Judging by some of the "pro-built" work I have seen there they must not have a good criteria for that honor.
  4. Hmm.............my one attempt at doing this did not end well. I'd also like to hear some success stories.
  5. James welcome to the forum and thanks for bringing such fine work with you. From one vet to another, thanks for your service. And lets see some more building!
  6. To do it the old fashilned way is to run over the raised portions of the gauge face with a silver & red Prismacolor pencil and then a drop of white glue for the cystal.
  7. Yeah, Jim, that kit is a little fidgetey all right. I had one in the works for a long while, but I got tired of fighting with that cab. I've since parted it out.
  8. Bob, that looks super. Very nicely done.

Nice work on a very good kit. I've done one myself. I love the cheater slicks. Looks like a weekend warrior all right.
  10. Yeah, I haven't heard from ya, hows that going?
  11. For a street machine? You betcha. Keep it goin'.
  12. Cool. I was thinking about a rat rod version of something like this. It's usually called a coupe pick-up here in the states. Would it qualify for this CBP? http://flappypaddle-...upe-pickup.html
  13. In addition to what Rich said, Super Clean/Purple Power (the go-to paint strippers for many of us) are also good at loosening glue bonds. So if it has to be stripped as well, just give it a soak, but be advised it will also strip all chome as well.
  14. YEAH MAN! That's what I'm talking about. That looks great.

Same here. I have no complaints except for the nasty bucket seats. You can see mine in the Cannonball thread if you want.
  16. Also give some idea of what you want in trade for your stuff. Specific kits if possible.
  17. Not seeing much activity guys, how we doin?
  18. Artemis when do we get to see some of those renderings come to life?
  19. I may have something in mind for this one too. Just as long as the time frame isnt too short.
  20. Unfortunately it's become quite the trend here in Tampa. Camaros, Firebirds, Mustangs, Tbirds, mostly 90's models that can be gotten cheaply. Its not really a donk because they arent really having to mod the suspension much. Its just "how much can I stuff in the wheel well." They apparently ride badly to seeing how they need stiffer springs to avoid having too much suspension travel on top of rubber band tires. Silly really. I dont see this style lasting. Hopefully.
  21. Boy do I ever know that feeling.

As im building this kit now too I'm real jazzed to see this thread. Good work going on here. Looking forward seeing more.
  23. Theres no doubt that Virgil has been a positive influence on this hobby. Every contest I've done for the last two years, his name comes up. People respect his creative nature and his open willness to teach. Plenty of builders will give a couple of paragraphs on how they did this or that. But few have dedicated themselves to teaching the skills. For that I'm a fan and a friend.
  24. Hmm. This is a tough one. There are some that I would call master builders but they themselves would disagree. But to me the whole idea is silly. Without a formal ranking system to decide what a "master builder" should be, its all just ego and/or self promotion.
  25. Whoa, yeah. Well either build it into a curbside or give it another go, grafting a moded roof from something else.
