  1. On a strictly personal opinion, I find the cowl hoods to be done to death. I'd like to see maybe some 67 Chevelle vents on that hood or something else maybe. As for the model as it sits. One word -AWESOME. I really like it. Makes me want to dig mine out and dig in.
  2. Regardless of what your soaking in, sand through to the primer in a half dozen spots to let the chemical attack the primer and things will go a lot smoother when removing paint.
  3. Yeah. I'm diggin' this.
  4. Great work! But doesn't it look a little too clean?
  5. Not that many to be honest. Since it was a spoon, I just did one mist coat and then a couple wet coats about 5 mins apart and then the clear 15 mins after that. Tell the truth, I dont see a lot of color shift in this one. I mostly getting a dark metallic color but the metal flakes are many differnet colors. I tried this over silver laquer and didn't get a very good effect. No idea why they call this stuff Ice, when it's so dark.

  7. After beating myself up with crappy kits for a box stock entry, I've decided to do a decent kit to help keep me from the loony bin. The chassis is Testors One Shot Inca Gold. The body will be Duplicolor Mirage 'Ice' over a black basecoat. The kit is excellent. The only issue I have is the ejector pin marks ON EVERY BLOODY PART!!!!! NOT KIDDING!!!! But I'm dealing with it. *deep breath* More soon.
  8. That a 68 Grill going in?
  9. Don't get me started on MCBA. Welcome to MCM forum. You'll find everything you need.
  10. AWESOME! GREAT IMAGINATION AT WORK!
  11. Honestly I can say since this is obviously not based upon another kit body (that I know of), I think this is a very good effort of a near forgotten muscle car. I think a good modeler could make a very good replica from this. I agree with Mark on all points, but I still think this is a very good effort.
  12. Yes! Thanks very much DD!
  13. Oh man. Is it too late to take those wheels off and sand that mold seam off the tires? All that good work and those seams stick out like a sore thumb.
  14. Anyone know what model wheel these are patterned after?
  15. Thanks. I'm starting the kit as we speak and I'll be posting a WIP thread, it just won't be in this build off because it doesn't meet the criteria of a rare or forgotten kit.
  16. I joined this build off because I was planning a box stock build for contest. Unfortunately all of my "forgotten" kits are kits that were forgotten because they are just plain awful. I also figured that if I could do a terrible kit well for a box stock catagory it would really showcase my skills. What I didn't figure is how &%$@%&!!! crazy this would make me everytime I find a kit flaw that I would normally just customize my way around. So in consideration of my own sanity and the safety of my family (flying parts) I've decided to build another kit for my box stock contest entry. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) this is the Revell Goodguys 40 Ford Coupe. Not even remotely a forgotten kit. So with regret I think I'll just watch this one. Be cool.
  17. Mine is a AMT 51 Fleetline that I started as a modern resto-mod and then sorta started adding classic kustom elements to the body. The two sides/ideas of this build just didn't work together for me, so I gave the project to my son to do whatever to and I wouldn't have to worry about anymore.
  18. I just saw Iron Man II and was kicking around the idea of building a replica of the deuce we have seen in both films. There seems to be precious little online about it. Has anyone seen it in any magazines? Supposedly it is owned by director Jon Favreau. Anyone got any info on it?
  19. WHOA! Now there's something you don't see everyday.
  20. Just bought this kit. Any major issues?
  21. When I say the wheels would not turn in the front, I'm refering to the ability to steer the front wheels, to turn them. I should have made that more clear.
  22. Beautiful.
  23. Wow. Man that sucks. I'm totally unfamiliar with that brand name. I've no idea why that happened. I doubt the heat had much to do with it.
  24. Well for one- pic missing. For chrome, get some Bare Metal Foil. It'll open whole new worlds to you. If you gotta paint trim, mask around it. To steady your hand, I usuall rest it on the edge of the table.
