  1. Lil' update and yes, completion is getting closer. I have to hold back and do just a lil per night or I'll get in hurry-up mode and screw sumpin' up. Finished my engine up, added fuel lines and a wash. The interior is near done. Just used Krylon Make it Suede and some acrylic wash. I think I have to aged/water stained look I was trying for. I also used a bit of black sharpie to accomplish the windshield gasket. Just a few parts still to get completed n weathered, driveshaft, shocks, stearing and the &%#&!! radatior which does fit worth a &%$@! Paint/weather the bottom of the interior cup. And then figure out my glass situation. The stock clear parts are way too thick and I'll likely cut new ones from clear styrene sheet. Anyway on to the pics.
  2. White stripes - oh yeah. Big time. Love it.
  3. A friend at work asked me today if I'd be interested in building a model for him of his Dad's old 1:1. I told him that I wasn't interested as I've little enough time for my own projects. I then suggested he check out some of the builders that sell on Ebay, and see if he can get one to build for him. So at lunch we surfed and looked at a lot of "pro-built" models on Ebay. I noticed there seems to be quite a diverse group of folks calling themselves pro-builders, from a skill stand-point. So what's your thoughts on these pro-builders and the pro-posers? And finally does anyone know a person who does this sort of thing that I might refer my friend to?
  4. Looks interesting. Keep it going pardner.
  5. Yeah, you captured that 1990's monochrome pro-street vibe perfectly. Great work.
  6. Bryce, the more I look at this, the more I love it. I love the colors, the side trim change, the attention to detail. Fantastic.
  7. Fantastic work dude.
  8. Ross Gibson makes a 426 with a rat roaster on it. However after doing a Google image search, something like that would be seriously easy to fabricate.
  9. Sounds good to me. However can we stretch the due date until say - April? Real life has a way of back burnering my hobbies.
  10. I'd be in on this. My next build up will be a box-stock build up of the Mongram BADMAN 55 Chevy. I know 55 Chevy's are pretty common, but this kit isn't. If you guys feel this is rarely seen enough to fit the criteria, then I'm in.
  11. Nice! I've always wanted one of these.
  12. Fantastic work. I knew there had to be some maniac out there customizing diecasts.
  13. Some good work going on here. Looking forward to seeing this come together.
  14. LOL! This was my attitude years ago when we first started seeing the rat rod genre show up in scale models. I mean why in world would you purposely make something look bad, right? Rust is the enemy of all true car guys, isn't it? However after a while I started seeing the art in it. The craftsmanship. I mean it's not hard to build a model badly so that it doesn't look good, but it is challenging to make a car look authenticly weathered and distressed in the way a real car would. I have the folks here on this forum to thank for showing me this new (to me) facet of our hobby. And thanks very much for the ataboys. Brett the valve cover is dullcoated and looks well faded, it just showed up a lil too bright in that photo.
  15. Dingo is this a work in progress?
  16. Okay we're up on wheels. The interior has been channeled and fits nicely. Paint is drying now. Th is the final stance. The interior is in a tan suede and will not looks as ragged as the rest of the car. I'm pretty damnn happy with it. Here's some pics.
  17. I really like this. Great realism. How did you do the spider caps?
  18. Went to a new-to-me hobby shop yesterday in St. Petersburg FLorida, Ralph's Hobbies. Great little store, 100's of car kits. I picked up the Monogram 60 Chevy show rod Bad News/Bad Actor. I've always wanted that one. On a side note I also found Mother, Juggs and Speed and Vanishing Point on dvd. A good day.
  19. So far sooooo good. I'm likin' it!
  20. This is great Raul. I've been kicking around the idea of using the Revell 49 Merc for something like this. Keep at it.
  21. Try taking the shots using the macro function. It's symbolized on most cameras with a small flower icon. Why no glass? No bad for a first model though.
  22. I'm in Tampa, I'll try to make it.
  23. Dave, I'd be real interested in getting a skeleton if you do cast them.

    Mid Mill

Very original. I like it a lot. Great work.
  25. Thanks guys. My son is looking forward to his first contest as an adult (turned 17 in March, ###### I'm getting old) which will be the MAGS contest at SE Streetrod NAts in Oct. He'll be entering this deuce.
