Awesome. Because if I gotta travel across country I'm going to want to save on the gas bill. I imagine that big block caprice in the 2017 run is going to be hitting gas stations every 20 minutes

Did you cut open the grill on it? Also did you shave off the emblem on the drivers side fender or does it come like that? -

"Holy Grail" Models?
StockBoresMe replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I already have a new to me copy of my 1st skill 2 kit that requires glue. The kit I consider my 1st model car. Bit the real deal. The very 1st model kit I ever came into contact with was a simple snap 1/32 scale that I consider my holy grail. The kit I most desire yet is seemingly unfindable. So what's your most desired kit? Tell us the reason why it's your favorite -
did you have a tracking number? It should tell you if its been delivered

I hear a lot of talk and different ideas on how you should do the wood. One tip I have is to start with more of a pale yellow as a base before you start adding the brown shades. I heard using a common brown sharpie and smearing it around with a qtip works pretty well over the yellow. My advice is try everyones advice and do a line up. Maybe even add a little fun and have the crowd pick a favorite Either way shes looking real nice and your doing some pretty heavy work really fast.

Truly a cool ride. Looks like it took a lot of work. Are the bullet holes actually holes or painted on, and are those pegasus wheels or wheels from an alternomad kit? The motor makes it look like your going to be replacing rear tires every 4 days! -
Sweet little ride. I learned to drive in an 85 gold rx7 owned by my dad back when i was a little feller. I remember 2 things about that night. Pops was talking up his little cars power and told me to try to burn rubber. He said he could burn through 1st and most of second but never anything in 3rd. I dont know if I did something right or it was beginners luck but he got a big kick out of the chirp from the tires when I hit 3rd, and then.... Stopping on a hill. I stalled it and the front was hanging out in the intersection with headlights coming at us. Dad yells jump over and hopped out running to the drivers side as i climbed to shotgun. He got in and smashed the gas trying to move quick and that little mazda made 2 pretty impressive snake lines in the road! He always had cool imports. An opel gt, A courier and 2 of the b2000 counterparts, but the rx7 was definitely one of my favorite cars he owned next to his 84 VW Gti

Hey Tom, It does seem like your way ahead of the pack here. I myself have been too pooped this past couple of weeks. I work outside all day and lately michigans been topping out around 45°. In the mornings far less. Plus I'm waiting on a key part to come in so I can get fitments right and really get into it...... Pllluuuuuussss I got a package from mk11 I've been waiting on that included my 1st non snap kit so the excitement of that has drawn my attention. Only 2 or 3 weeks left for work and I get all winter off. So my schedule is going to be based solely on glue and paint dry time on the speedwagon very soon. Good to see others rocking and rolling right along though. Your railroad woody is turning out great!

Here's my entry in the Swap-N-Build Cbp. The kit I received is the Fink Speedwagon. A customized 1932 Ford brainstormed by the great Thom Taylor and built by Dan Fink. My idea has strayed a bit into the wild category. I'm going to be building it to my liking in a sort of "show rod" style. With a twin blown hemi plucked from the AMT '53 studebaker latest issued kit, huge pro street rear tires, big exhaust pipes, a heavily modified frame, wooden spoked tires for the front to compliment the wooden panels, a jet black paintjob covering the majority of it, and a little bit of a secondart color on the frame and some of the suspension pieces. Possibly a dark red or gold. I'm also toying with the idea of going with zero chrome. Again this is being built to my vision and I know most showrods have acres of chrome. Now to get to work!

Great color choices! -
I like it just the way it is. Its different but not in a bad way. It looks sort of like it would be an old-school with modern running gear ride
