  1. Now there's proof that monster meats and a blower can make any type of car look good!! Great job stuffing all of the Pro-Stock goodies into such a small car!!
  2. Patrick, I really like to old "finned" cars from the 50's and 60's!! You got the stance perfect on that one...low all around, and just a little bit more in the front!! Great job!!
  3. Actually, I have been looking at the Revell re-release of the 50 Ford pickup, and I have been known to jam the Mustang engine, drivetrain and interior into a few other models... Then I could be Mr. SVT!! Too funny for me!!
  4. Gregg, Thanks for the compliments on the truck!! The problem with the door windows on 55 Chevy pickup cab is why I never finished the step-side one in the picture. The corrected 57 cab came out right after I started building it, so I just put it all back in the box for another day... So, does that mean that someday I'll get the remaining copies from my subscription to PF?! Or, do I have to ask Roy about that?! We don't see much of him anymore, now that he's married... I still see Rex at all of the shows. Are you coming to the NNL West in March? Regards,
  5. Now that's funny!!
  6. Ismael, I agree with what the others have said!! I really enjoyed watching this one get built!! It is an excellent display of craftsmanship and workmanship!! You've made Mr. Gurney proud!! So, what's next?!
  7. Tito, I don't use Future. I use Elmer's white glue for my glass, but I've heard that Future works well, too.
  8. Thanks, Jonathan!! And, the decal set that I've picked out for it has very little yellow in it, too!! Mostly various shades of blue, silver letters with dark-blue outlines for the name "HEMI-FIED", with some purple and yellow sponsor stuff thrown in for accents. Here's a quick pic of the body parts temporarily taped together and sitting on the chassis with the decal set that I'll be using. Any chance that you or any of the other guys on the other coast are going to make it to the NNL West?! We had nearly 1,000 models on display last year!! This year should be just as big!! Regards,
  9. Thanks, Lyle!! I must have missed this when you posted your response a few weeks ago...
  10. Very cool, Bill!! It reminds me of a small diorama I have of a 32 Ford Tudor sedan, (yep, the old AMT kit), that depicts a story my grandfather once told me about the time he and his brother tried to replace a cracked front cross-member back in 1940. He can't see very well anymore, so he gave it back to me a few years ago. It's one that I'll never part with. Keep up the great work,
  11. Way too freaking cool, Rollin!! Thanks for the pics of the measurements!! The tires are actually smaller in diameter than what I want but I have a set of tires that will probably fit those rims!! They're close enough to buy a set and give it a try!! Thanks, again!!
  12. I can't believe that they left it out. It's such a small and easy part to make...Oh well, maybe they'll add it in next time...
  13. Nice collection, Albert!! How many BUILT models do you have?! (Most of us have more kits than we'll ever live long enough to build...)
  14. That is just too cool, Bill!! I wish that I could have one of those in 1:1!!!
  15. Looking good, Marcos!! Don't forget to make an idler arm from the steering linkage. The Revell boys did a great job in giving us a pitman arm off of the steering box, but the left the other side just hanging out in space... Regards,
  16. Thanks for the pics, Rollin!! I'm a basic 5 spoke kind of guy, so I like the Chrome T's. I'll check the LHS to see if they have any. If not, I know that they can get them for me. If you could, what is the diameter of the wheel and what is the diameter of the tire? Thanks, again,
  17. Very nice, Harry!! I wish that I had room for some of those LARGE scale models!! I've had to get rid of just about everything over 1/25th scale just to keep what I have confined to one room. So please keep building and posting!! If I can't build it, I can at least enjoy seeing the pics of your build!!
  18. Tito, The interior work and the paint looks GREAT!!! Why is this one still "On the workbench"? It looks like it's ready for "Under Glass"!!
  19. VERY WELL DONE!!! I'm curious what it cost you to have the decals made. Most of my friends print their own. Keep building and posting!!
  20. Mike, A little more sanding, primer and some Fabric paint will bring that front panel right in line. Here's a couple of tips that might help with the door panels; I often will make specially shaped sanding blocks from balsa or plastic, depending on the shape I'm trying to achieve. They really help even things up and make them look consistent from side-to-side. I also use my razor saw for cutting some of the lines in the interior door panels. It does a great job of straightening up lines. Round the leading and trailing edges of the panels where they meet. Real interior trim is typically very rounded in these areas. It helps buffer some of the minor alignment issues between the panels. If they're perfectly square where they meet, any misalignment really shows. You can kind of see what I'm talking about if you look at where the door panel and the quarter panel meet in this pic. In the case of the Mustang kit that I took the interior from, the quarter panel is actually offset from the door panel by about 3 scale inches for the armrest. That's one of the beauties of custom work...as long as it's the same on both sides and it looks good, it is good!! Keep the faith and keep going, it's really starting to take shape!!
  21. That's too funny!! I never thought of trading nightmares!! No new wheels, yet. Everything I tried was either too big, (like all of the newer wheels seem to be), or just didn't look any better to me. Here's what's on the right side that I haven't replaced yet. What do you think? I'm trying not to do every model I build in either a Vette or a Cobra SVT theme, but these days I seem to keep going down one of those two paths...
  22. Very well done, Virgil!! I really enjoy seeing unique pieces, and this one certainly is unique!! Keep up the great work and the posts!
  23. That's looking really good, James!! I also like the garage scene that you use for your photos!
  24. Yep, you just have to love what digital technology and the internet has brought to modeling!!
  25. Mike, That's the thing about custom work, it's hard to do well, it takes a long time and often has to be redone several time before you're happy with the finished result...but the reward is having something really nice that's unique and appreciated by your peers. Keep going, your doing GREAT!!
