I'll have to agree with Andy on this one!! (But maybe that's just because I'm old!!! ) The only car that comes close on the "BAD" meter to the 917 in my fickle old mind is the P3!!
-
Looking good, Bill!! I can't wait to see it at the NNL West!!
-
Now that is a lot of work!! Good job on all of the details!!
-
Erik, Try putting/updating the date in the description section of the post each time you add pictures. That way we'll know when to look again. This is a really cool project and it looks like you're doing a great job!! I'm sure that it's a lot of fun!! Keep up the posts!!

Too cool, Bill!! I really like the front tires being higher than the hood!! Now that is LOW in the front!!
-
And people ask me if I like Pontiacs because I have 3 white 1:1's Those are some pretty nice builds!!

I'm with you there, Bill!!! The IPMS show just wasn't as much fun as the NNL. It was way tooooooooooooooooooooooooooo serious for me. If you want to use a light compensating, digital colorometer to ensure I used the correct shade of paint or a magnifier and a digital micrometer to measure the correct size and placement of a decal under the hood of one of my cars then I'd suggest you keep on walking...I can assure you that I'm not that precise in anything I build for myself. I remember several of the IPMS judges looking at my black, chop-top '25 T hotrod many times with one of the judges continually telling the others that the front axle was turned a few degrees out of it's correct location. I finally said loud enough for them to hear that if they didn't like that they could just keep on keepin' on. I think that I embarrassed them because I got an award for the car!! And that's why you'll see me with a constant smile at any NNL!

Any '54s Have Quad Headlights?

That's a pretty interesting looking one!! It looks like it has one full sized headlamp for the lowbeam and one of the smaller, quad headlamps for the highbeams. -
Nice work!! I love building Sci-Fi stuff, especially SF3D and Star Wars stuff!!
-
Thanks for the info, Andy!!

It might not be, but like my friend Ron says, "it's close enough for the crowd we run with!!" -
Steve, They don't all have to be show stoppers to look good and be appreciated!! I really like this one!! It would look too cool sitting next to my 55 Nomad gasser!!
-
Brendan, I'll see you at the NNL West. My friends Curt Raitz and Jerry Cardinal are sharing a tbale again this year. We're hoping that Rex will put us near the display tables again this year like he did last year. Rex, if you're reading this, I'll bring the donuts if you give us the same table that we had last year!!

That's too funny, Lyle!! I can't remember the last time that I build a model with just what came in the box. Using two or more kits per build is the only way I'm going to get close to building all of the models I have before I head off to the big glue factory in the sky...and that's not counting the new kits that I'll buy this year!!
-
Well, I guess that I'll hold off from posting any of my diecast cars...the only modifications I've made to them was to remove them from the box and put them in my display case!! Maybe the women in China that build all of those beautiful Danbury Mint Pro-Street and Pro-Stock model cars should post their work here!! Afterall, the did build them from a kit!!

From the picture, the police car looks like a 2DR sedan. As I recall, the AMT 58 is a hardtop...the difference being the "B" pillar and the full window frames on the doors of the sedan, and not on the hardtop. From the pictures I could find, it looks like the Revell 58 is also a hardtop. That's not hard to change, and would make an interesting detail for the watchful observer... -
Very nice work, Brendan!!! I really enjoyed following along as you built it. Personnaly, I'm really bad about stopping and taking pictures as I go...always wanting to get just a little further along before I break out the camera... Keep up the great work and the posts...especially the work-in-progress shots. They help make up for the gap in time between getting the magazines in the mail!!

Mike, Thanks for the extra pic and the information. I really like the overall look of what you did. Keep up the good work and the posts!! Regards,

VERY NICE!!! Most of us know how hard it can be to blend multiple kits together and come up with a cohesive design that looks like something built right out of the box. That's nothing short of a GREAT display of bodywork, craftsmanship and workmanship in blending all the various elements together. Now all you need to do is get one of the resin manufacturers to model it. I'll buy one!!

If you cut off the mounting pin flush with the top of the airbag, then drill a 1/16" hole where the pin was, you can insert a piece of 1/16" tubing/rod in the hole after you've cut the airbags down to the height you want. I then fill in the backside of the airbaf with thick superglue to get rid of the unwanted hole in the back.
-
Mike, Nice build!! Which model did you use and where did the tires/wheels come from? Regards,
-
I agree to both points!!
-
Lyle, Thanks for the pics of the new '32!! Why didn't you build it with the flathead engine? Regards,
