  1. Got it!! I was so overwhelmed by the moster meats when I looked at it the first time that I completely overlooked the Webers you're using to power the little monster!! Glad to see that you've got a good sense of humor!! Keep up the great builds and the posts!!
  2. Now that's a very nice collection of models that you've got there!!
  3. I agree with Harry...tan would not contrast enough with the gold to look interesting. I'd probably go black with white highlights. Good luck,
  4. Is there a machinist in the house!! I'd say so!! I don't know how I missed this one when it was initially posted, but WOW!! That an amazing display of craftsmanship, workmanship, creativity... I also really like the 55 Cameo you have posted on your Fotki site. I'll have to look around there some more when I get time.
  5. Nice buggy, Tony!! Does that little bugger have enough HP to push those HUGE meats around?! Maybe you guys have higher octane fuel up north!!
  6. Nice details and build, Tony!!
  7. That came out REALLY NICE!!
  8. I really like the styling, Mike!!
  9. Oh yeah!!! I always liked the Super Bees!!! The new Super Bee trucks are pretty cool, too!! Keep up the pics and posts!!
  10. Sounds like a dragster to me?! I just got one yesterday. I think that I'm going to go with a fendered streetrod and see how the new flathead goes together. Good luck on your build and keep up the posts!!
  11. I like the color and the paint work looks GREAT, Tom!!
  12. I hate to be biased, but...I second the motion!!
  13. Thanks, George. I have also bought a lot of Chris' resin diorama bits and pieces. I was amazed to see how nice Chris' stuff is. I don't think that I've ever gotten a piece from him with a pinhole in it. From my phone conversations with Chris, I suspect that the Super-Fly kit is much nicer to build than the Nomad gasser. That's because Chris redesigned and built new masters for virtually every part of the Super-Fly Mustang. The problem with the Nomad, like I think I mentioned, is that it was done using a tub from an AMT kit that AMT used over and over for just about every gasser they ever did. It takes a fair amount of time to properly fill in all of the gaps between the chassis and the body. Not a difficult task, but very time consuming. For me that's a problem because I don't get a lot of time for model building. Here's a picture of the completed chassis: Let me know if you get the Super-Fly. I'd be very interested in your initial and final impressions of the kit. Regards,
  14. Very nice work!! I would have just tossed them both, but you made them both into really nice looking models!! Maybe I'll have to take a second look the next time someone gives me something like what you started with!!
  15. That's some really nice detail work there, Erik!! It almost makes me want to start building sports cars, again!!
  16. Bill, Where did you get those bolts for the sway bar bracket? They look great!! Thanks,
  17. It looks like you're off to a good start, Radames. I also get the bodywork done and ready for paint before I build the other parts, if I'm not making any major chassis, interior or engine mods. That way the paint has plenty of time to cure before I get around to polishing it. Regards,
  18. Walt, Did you buy this kit from SMBC, or are you building your own??
  19. Nothing like the smell of fresh paint in the morning!! Keep up the good work! This one is coming along nicely!! The chassis work looks GREAT!!
  20. Thanks for the clarification, Cal!! The only WWII stuff I build are figures and land vehicles put into small dioramas, so I easily mistook the cockpit for a Sci-Fi piece, which I also build a lot of. You're correct, the techniques carry over to any type modeling type. I actually learned a lot about weathering from the train modeling guys. From what I've seen, they know how to weather anything and make it look completely realistic!! Too many hobbies and not enough time...
  21. Hey, Eric, that windshield looks familiar!! (I couldn't resist...) Overall they both look great!! The Revell Willys kits make great looking models. The only suggestion I have is get some sparkplug wire that's a bit closer to scale. As I recall, you used solder for the wires. Almost any of the aftermarket model parts suppliers on the web carry scale sparkplug wire in several colors. While you're at it, get some tubing that's slightly larger in diameter than the sparkplug wire for the boots. Together, they really help make the sparkplug wires look much more realistic. Keep up the good work and the posts!! Like everything else, practice makes perfect.
  22. Beautiful build and paint of a really great kit, Randy!! I can't believe that the LHS where I live has had to mark theses down 50% and still can't sell them. I guess that's what you get when you live in a farming town. If it were John Deere green with bright yellow wheels he probably couldn't keep enough of them in stock!!
  23. GREAT paint, build and BMF work. I really like the design!!
  24. Very nice paint and BMF work!!
  25. I agree with James...great looking build!! How about some better pics when you get time?!
