Very nice!! I really like to look with the top off! (Gregg, are we allowed to say that??) Thanks for sharing,
-
Very nice reproduction!! The only time that I really hate seening that kind of car is when I'm looking in the rearview mirror! Thanks for sharing,
-
No...they're still there. Until you pay the annual fee, they just turn off the access. Once you pay the fee, the pictures all magically reappear. Been there, done that... Later,

Kevin, First I want to thank and applaud you for the 100x improvement in the clarity of your pictures and your text. Second, I really like the "back-to-stock" mods you made on the Chevy! Third, I really like the color choices and the very suttle difference in color between the body and the fenders! Good job, young man, good job!!

No offense taken here. No one can argue opinion over fact! Very nice, Rodney, very nice indeed!
-
Yeah...that's what I thought...I actually call them pro-touring because they're built as serious road cars with high performance engines and suspension.

A-f***ing-mazing!! For the wipers, I used the ones from Model Car Garage on my '58 Impala. They're product code MCG-2013. They may not be as "factory stock" as you're looking for, but I like them because the arms are 3 dimensional. http://www.modelcargarage.com/store/pc/vie...p;idproduct=116 GREAT BUILD!! Thanks for sharing,

As William Forrester would say: "You're the man now, dawg!!" Very nice look, Mike!! I really like where this one is going!!

April 20th Get Together
Raul_Perez replied to m408's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've offered for Aaron and anyone else that's coming through Tracy to hookup with me and I'll drive us to the Bay Area. I've got a van that seats 7, including me. A little bad news, my friend Jerry Cardinal (aka Mr. Brass) may not be able to come. We'll know better as we get closer to the 20th. Later, -
So have we defined what a "lowrider" is? Everything I build (except for the gassers) are as low as I can get them without "Z"ing the frame!! Would any of these qualify? Later,

Welcome, Chris! None of us really building all that well, some of us have just gotten better at taking really good pictures!! Seriously, please post whatever you've built. This is the best place I've found for sharing ideas and skills. Later,

Don't You Hate It When..
Raul_Perez replied to Clay's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've done that so many times that I was beginning to believe it's part of the process!! I can't tell you how many times I've gotten "Satan's Adhesive" on a finished model... I love/hate that stuff!! -
Kevin, Thanks for the apology that you posted on one of the other threads. Now it's time for us to move on and get back to building. Period. Anthony, I've seen several of your builds at the various model shows and contests. While I don't always like the subject matter that you chose to build, [personal preference/opinion], I've always been impressed with your skills and the finished results of your builds, [fact]. The workmanship and craftsmanship that you put into your modifications, paint and artistry is truly amazing. All of your builds that I've seen are typically far beyond levels that I have the time or motivation to achieve. In that, it's easy to see why Kevin respects you so much. So, keep up the GREAT work and I hope to see you again next year at the NNL West.

The more progress you make on this one - the more I like where it's going! Keep up the good work and the posts! Thanks,
-
Yeah...the only use I've found for the ultra-brite stuff is rearview and sideview mirrors. Since I'll only get to see the finished model in pics, I'm more interested in your opinion of how it looks when it's done. Thanks, William!!
-
Tom, I really like the color choices and the aluminum intake tubes!! Thanks for sharing,
-
Very nice work, William! Since you didn't take the "strip and glue the trim to the model first" approach, I'll be really interested to see what you think of how the chrome side trim from the kit looks with the BMF work on the windows. Or are you using BMF on the chrome side pieces after you install it? I've got a couple of the tri-five kits and I'm not yet sure which way I'll do the trim on mine. Thanks for sharing and please keep us posted with your progress,

Possible Build Off
Raul_Perez replied to evilone's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That works for me, George!! That was too funny!! It was the best part of this whole thread!! -
That's a nice clean build of one cool looking little car! I don't know anything about that particular car...but it looks fun and fast!!
-
Eddie, Glad to see that you've gotten back to building. Yes, better pictures, please!! Thanks for sharing,
-
MORE PICS!! Only showing one picture of a car that nice is like having a beautiful woman on the cover of a magazine to draw us in and then not showing us anymore afterwards!!
-
I'll second all of that!! Very nice build!! Thanks for sharing!!

Pinewood Derby "racer'
Raul_Perez replied to ajulia's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Tito, my friend!! Glad to hear that your helping out with the pinewood derby!! That's GREAT stuff for kids and adults! Anyway, I ran several of these races when my boys were in the scouts. Milt and Michael pretty much covered it: 1) Debur the axles 2) Make sure the wheels are straight 3) Bring the car up to the maximum allowable weight 4) Use graphite on the axles All of the cars that followed these simple instructions did really well. All the others were scrambling to add weight and graphite after the preliminary runs were over... Good luck to you and your nephew!! -
Mike, Those rearend parts look like they were meant to be there!! It's a little difficult to tell from the pics, but it might look better if you move the mounting points on the axle for the leaf springs and the traction bars out towards the wheels just a little bit to "square-up" the look of the parts. Either way, now you've got some serious transfer of power going on out back!!

Bob, Check out the DVD that Amazon carries on the T-Bolt. Besides the interviews with Bonner and Platt, there's a lot of good pics of the engine, chassis, interior and trunk areas. I also have several pics that I've pulled off of the internet. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll forward them to you. Later,
