  1. It sounds like your mailman got a good look between the covers before you did!!
  2. Mark, I'm also a huge Camaro, Trans Am and Harry Gant fan! And now I'm a fan of your work!! Thanks for sharing,
  3. I'll second that!! Great job, Olle!!
  4. Very nice, Michael! That'll look cool next to mine!! I should call SMBC and get one on order! Later,
  5. Chuck, I got it from Amazon for $10. Here's the link: Ford Thunderbolt Regards,
  6. I was thinking of working on the wheels next. They need to be painted white, the lug nuts need to be painted a steel color and the valve stems need to be painted black. Then I might get really adventurous and add some wheel weights. All combined, that could easily take me about a week.
  7. Yeah...I got a DVD of the car's history that included interviews with Phil Bonner and Hubert Platt. It's a really interesting car and the DVD addresses a lot of the history about it. If it turns out like I want, it'll look just like the 1:1 picture. Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know I'm slow, but I eventually get them done... Glad you like it...so far...
  8. All I can tell you my young friend is to enjoy all of the time that you have with him now while he's young. It won't be long before he's into your stash of models, asking for the keys to the car and off to college... When my sons where you I was working as many as 3 jobs at a time so my wife could stay home and raise them. As a result, they turned out to be really fine young men. The down-side was that I didn't get to spend a lot of time with them when they were young.
  9. Yeah!! Lets see some more pics of that one!! The paint looks GREAT!!
  10. This is the look I'm going for...a "stock" '64 T-Bolt as it was delivered to one of the race teams right from Ford. This picture clearly shows the aluminum front bumper and the fiberglass hood that were used to reduce weight. Here are a few pics of the 427 FE engine that Ford commisioned one of their local suppliers to literally wedge into the Fairlane. Don't try this at home, the 427 FE WON'T fit into the stock engine bay of a Fairlane. No, the air cleaner setup is not currently glued to the carbs. This engine is such a tight fit in the engine bay that the headers don't get installed until after the engine is mounted to the chassis and the air cleaner assembly isn't installed until after the body is fitted to the chassis. I was impressed with how well the ends of the radiator hoses fit up to the radiator that is integrated into the radiator support assembly. Good job, Revell!! Regards,
  11. Craig, The engine details and the colors look GREAT!! Time to "get'r done!!"
  12. Yep...my vote so far is for this one!! Good job, my old friend!!
  13. Nice work, Marcos!! I used the same method recently on my '58 Impala. Yes, it works pretty well.
  14. I'll second all of that!! Great looking build!!
  15. Very nice, clean box-build, Mike!!
  16. Craig, The "under the hood" shot is very convincing! Nice work!!
  17. Alright Bernard!! You're on the home stretch!! You've got my address...I'm making room in my display case right now!!
  18. I'll second that!! The big lights, the flathead and the steel wheels all tie together very well to an older look.
  19. Rick, If you want to see more pics of it, they're posted out on my Fotki site: www.fotki.com/raul56perez/ For this one I raised the bed to make room for the frame. I actually like the roadster body more than the full cab, but I built this one to sell and I had already built/sold several of the roadster pickups. For a quick "build to sell", I put way too much time into it by shortening the bed...
  20. Tom, Where did the headers come from? I don't recall those being in the kit...
  21. A pocket knife??? I thought a Marine only need his boots and his teeth! The boots are to knock down and destroy whatever his teeth couldn't chew through!!
  22. Hey Mike, I have an extra quick-change rear end from the '43 Willy gasser pickup that I just finished. It has separate leafsprings. Send me a PM with your address and I'll drop it in the mail. Regards,
  23. Thanks for the update, Harry. I think many of us have met Gregg at some time and know that he and his “crew†are not some humongous, corporate entity that we’d never consider forgiving for being late with an issue of a magazine. At the same time, I think we equally enjoy being able to give him a hard time for being late…kind of like you would a family member. So, Gregg, take it all in stride, do what you can to get back on track and know that the majority of us still fully support and appreciate your efforts. Yes, MCM IS a great magazine. Period.
  24. And if Harry would have drawn the front view of that '59 Caddy with those BIG ol' twin bumper extensions, OMG!!...it would have to be sold with a brown wrapper over the cover!
