I am on Facebook and am in 4 or 5 Model groups that i enjoy very much. I see a few people that are on this forum in those groups as well. Been more Drama on here than any of those groups i am in or for that matter less drma from all my friends than what happens on here.

This is one of the older kits from AMT and the newer 57 chevy that they did is a lot better. This one is so warped and parts are so ill fitting that it is a pain to build. This is theone with the car is blue on the box and they also did it in blue plastic and that was also a pain to get covered in primer.

Well I finally finished this kit will be the last time I buy this Kit from AMT. This wabuilt to be used as a door prize for the KAMS show coming up in a couple weeks. Hood is glued shut as we don't put the engines in them.

It really depends on if i have the kit in my stash alreay. If it is one of the latest kit out I usually open itup and see what options it has . If it is something I want to build right away then I will start on it other than that I will put it in the stash. If it is one iI have alreay then it just goes into the stash.. I tend to buy about a dozen or so of some of the better kits out there that way I have some for other projects.

Myself I would sand it a little with some 400 or 600 grit and then reshoot the area. Just some light coats and see how it turns out.Then i might shoot heaier coat and it the model looks like it needs another coat i shoot the whole body.

Mostly I use HOK paints but do like the testors lacquers and one coat paints. I have bought Tamiya paints in the can and through every one of them away. I get better results with Testors enamels. Usually use Duplicolor primers on every thing. I also use Duplcolor's touch up cans when I want a certian color and usually use one of their metallic paints as a base for some of the HOK candies.

The Theme for The KAMS show this year is Chrome and Fins. Every year we Give away built models in that theme as door prizes. I decided one of mine would be a 57 Chevy . So I decide to try a Larry Watson Inspired paint job. The chrome will be done with BMF . The body still needs Clear but once that is done will just have to put the rest together without the engine as the hoods are usually glued shut.

Okay here is the bumpers for the Hudson . I used the kit ones and removed the Bumper gaurds and smoothed them out. I then used Alclad to chrome them. I may wait and get the smoothed bumpers from ModelHaus.

not doing anything t my budget right now as the shows i want to go to come later and saving some money for that

You beat me to it About these 2 kits . I have also took the 37 Fords suspension and duplicated it in plastic. Scartch building you can make it to whatever scale you need.

Well I shot the Clear on last night first time using a Eurothane automotive Clear. Seems to go on thicker than Duplicolor clear. Still need to polish out some buggers aand then the body will be done.

Every Year at the KAMS Contest we Give away theme Cars as door prizes. One I am doing is a 50 Cadillac In a Watson Style Panel paint scheme. Right now I have the base coat painted.on it. Have already started to tape it off.

You Must be buying the wrong ones. I Copletely redid the body on my daughters car with all Harbor Freight tools. Have not had a problem with them. My air cmpressor for the tools was from them as well sometimes it ran for 2 hours at a time just from use. The havnd tools were abused as well. Matter of fact one of the car mags is redoing a car and the only tools they are using is the harbor freight stuff.

It went on well and covered good to. Used less than once on the car

Well I have the pinstriping painted on now on to clear coat after the pinstripes set a couple days.

Hey Chris doing just fine hoping to get a model done for the 26th but been sick all week and just can'tget motivated on it. I use BMF as a mask sometimes as well but here lately Can't get anywhere to buy it and don't usually want to buy it of the internet as I like to look at it to see if the package doesn't have any damage to it.

Yep I will be up to that show it is about a 5 Hour drive for me but me and another guy ride together and that makes the ride go by faster

A Couple month ago we were Talking about the Duplicolor Paint Shop Paint. It was discussed weather in needed to be thinned for the Airbush . Well Today I just shot a model with it today and It does not need to be thinned. This Cadillac was shot with Mineral Grey. o Bad it was to dark of grey I needed for this project.

That fits in with the theme for The KAMS show coming up in April. Would love to see it in Person!

I myself will probably never use it as I don't like Youtube unless it is the only place i can find what I am looking for.

In our contest to be an out of Box build it has to have the instructions with the kit. So if someone would bring the 49 Merc in to be entered and did not have the instructions with them It would be entered in the Customs Class or Street machine Class No matter if it had extra details addedor not. They could also enter it in the Misc. Class as well.
