Models in Walmart.....
tabsscale1 replied to coolplastic's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Nope not Johnson controls Exide technologies. Every battery we make is the same for everybody we supply to. I build the batteries themself and we don't know who they are getting built for and we used to make advance auto batteries. Yes because Johnson controls batteries are junk they just did a test on them and ours were far superior than Johnson Controls. We aremaking the Auto Zone batteries as of a couple years ago Had Nissan in this week and last week had ACDelco come in.Ford has come in recently as well. All of which are thinking of leaving Johnson Controls because of quality issues. We have more customers coming in this week ass well been working at the plant over 30 years and have not seen so many potential customers come to the plat as i have seen this year. -
Models in Walmart.....
tabsscale1 replied to coolplastic's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I can tell you one thing that was made For Walmart was built the same way as any otherand that was car batteries. I know this as we used to make the Walmart batteries and we built them the same as any other one. I have had stuf from Lowes that was just ###### and they were name brands and the same stuff from Walmart I still have. So that isn't true on all accounts. -
I don't know but thought they looked good in the one i did!

What type and brand of glue do you use
tabsscale1 replied to kenb's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I useAmbroid Pro weld and Testors liquid cement in the black bottles. I have CA and epoxy but hardly ever use either of them. I tried Tenax a couple different time and just threw it away. Ambroid Just works so much better. I have Also got some of Plastruct liquid cement as well that work just as good as the Ambroid. Ambriod around here is hard to come by so when i do see itI buy 2 or 3 bottles of it. -

Flat paint in contests
tabsscale1 replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In the last couple years in a couple categories in our contest ratrods and or suede cars have won the class they were in. One even won best in show . Our contest lets the contestants vote on the models so the contestants have to do the judging and that is the cars they pick . to me it is just as hard to do or harder to do a weathered and rusted one than to paint a shiny one. -
Sometimes ya just can't win.

One thing about that 3.1 is if it is the water pump tyhey only cost about $30 for the pump. Look at the Timing chain cover as well as they will leak as well. The water pump is an easy fix can change mine out in 20 minutes. The timing chain cover on my 97 Olds Culass supreme started leaking at 220000 mile had to take the subframe loose and the oil pan off to change it. I took the oil pan off just because it had so many mile on it and wanted to make sure it didn't leak. was just checking O'reilly's and the water pump cost between $14 to $53 depending on what kind you get.
