  1. Wheel arches are a bit tricky to get the line nice and clean, but here's a little trick I do, run a line of masking tape around the edge of the wheelarch, and then you have a hard edge to cut to, and it also stops the blade going off line, put the tape on, put on the BMF, trim, following the line of the masking tape, and then remove the excess BMF and the masking tape, and you end up with a nice clean line .... If you use thinner masking tape, you can do it in one piece, instead of using numerous pieces of thicker tape
  2. Thanks for the comments, Yes it was my first time wiring up an engine, I've wanted to try wiring an engine for ages, and each model I do, I like to try new things, so this was the test bed for the wired ignition ...
  3. my goal today was the get the BMF on the body finished, but I still have 2 wheel arches to do, it will get done tomorrow, also popped the air cleaner onto the carb's
  4. Very nice work, looking forward to seeing more ....
  5. Funny, I've just been watching this, I have it on DVD, and I would buy a few of these if they ever came out in plastic .... what a lovely looking car !!
  6. I was going to, but decided against it, as I think a nice sheen looks more in scale that a super high gloss,
  7. Very nice work, I do have a liking for Chrysler's, so you've got my attention, looking forward to seeing more of the build
  8. got the grille painted this morning, still need to do the chrome trim around the black grille, but I will leave it a day or so to dry out. Also got the distributor fitted and wired, found the firing order on the 'net, and also added the vacuum pipe from the distributor to the carburetor, the carb' was drilled and a short section of a cut metal pin was inserted, the other end was held in boiling water before putting it over the end of the vacuum advance on the distributor, this is the first time I have ever wired up an engine ...
  9. Very nice build, I would have probably left the decals off if I was building it, but seeing them fitted, they do look real good ....
  10. That's one real nice model, the paint is superb,
  11. Only spent a little time in the hobby room this evening, the front grill has been done in chrome Alclad, masked to do the metallic grey, and is masked yet again to do the black grill, the Charger R/T badge has been covered in chrome BMF and will be wiped over with a cotton bud dampened in thinners after the black goes on, the chrome outer trim will be done in BMF, also got the rear screen trim done using chrome BMF, I thought i would start with what I thought would be the hardest to do (It was !!)
  12. Very nice build ....
  13. Superb build !
  14. So did I, so I bought one in 2006 and still have it ... looking forward to seeing more of this build
  15. Very nice clean build, love the colour .....
  16. Very nice, I'm still very tempted in getting one of these,
  17. I'm not a great fan of modern machinery, but your doing a real nice job on this one,
  18. finally got the rear panel finished ... just needs the bumper fitting, but I did a dry fit earlier, lined up perfectly.
  19. Got the BMF applied to the parts that needed to be done in chrome on the rear panel, then the panel was masked off and spraying in satin black lacquer, then I took a small cotton bud dipped in lacquer thinners and wiped away the paint revealing the BMF undeneath, the same was done with the Charger badge, a little bit of red paint was used to pick out the R/T emblem, the top and bottom strip will be done in BMF when the paint hardens, Also got the paint polished out, as I had used acrylic lacquer and not cellulose, I didn't have to use the machine polishing, Poorboys SSR2 was used followed by Meguires NXT tech wax, and then went over it with Novus # 2
  20. Well got the interior finished today, so I can get on with polishing out the body and get the BMF done.
  21. That's the colour combo' I was thinking of doing the '69
  22. It looks much better in real life, I just cant get the camera to get the colours right, it's more of a slate blue, I want to try the embossing powders, Hobbycraft have it in stock, but haven't had the chance to get there lately,
  23. That's the one part I wish I could go back and do again, I removed them from the silencer boxes, the rest looked o.k, until I put on the Alclad, I will use the knowledge I've learnt on this to build a better model when I do the '69 version I have in the stash
  24. Both colours were mixed using a combo' of Tamiya metallic blue and aluminium, but didn't measure them, I just mixed them until I got the shade that matched the photo's I had.
  25. About 98 mile ...
