Door crasher prices every store is promising this black friday!

Wow, that blue looks great on it!?

Thanks everyone!? It is a nice looking kit, but has the typical problems….like lack of decent mounting points.? I’m currently trying to get the grill mounted securely. I guess the hood sides that I am not using were the main support for it??♂️

For all those who like to scratch build stuff.? I like to number the offcuts that I get from sheet styrene. I keep them all in an old Mackintosh’s toffee can. Numbering them means I don’t have to grab the calipers every time to find the thickness I’m after.

I imagine they are similar to Folk Art or other cheap craft paints? I found this video online. She loves them but says they work better on porous sufaces which would leave out styrene. She never used any sort of primer though which would help adhesion a lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oepXIp_fYCg

How to remove an emblem frpm a grill.

You could maybe use a curved photo etch saw blade that fits in a hobby knife and VERY carefully whittle it out of there?? -
This is an old Monogram kit that I got already built for five bucks. I have never done a 3 window so I had to snag it.? It was never painted and the roof had some gaps where it was glued on so I decided to refurbish it. I’ve disassembled it and re-fitted the top and fixed the ill-fitting deck lid. I did a motor swap since I don’t like having a Chevy motor in a Ford!? I salvaged the back half of the exhaust system and fabbed up some mid pipes. I also got rid of the torque tube and fabbed a driveshaft from aluminum tube and resin u-joints. I may do a wheel swap if I can find something I like in the parts box. Thanks for looking, comments welcome.?

Any ideas on scratchbuilding headers?

And here’s my thread on building headers from copper wire for anyone interested or searching this later. -
Communication skills and patience are sadly not among my virtues.

You should click on the user’s name to see if they are still active. Charlzrocks last post was 10 years ago and so was Fuel Coupes. The tubing bender pictured in FC’s post is listed here: https://www.hobbylinc.com/cgi-bin/s8.cgi?search_cat_s=&str_s=tube+bender -
Brake fluid will take just about anything off. I just stripped some parts that had an unknown glossy paint on them. Super Clean didn’t touch it. IPA softened it so I could scrape it off, and brake fluid took it right off. I use it as a last resort because it is nasty to dispose of. I have never tried oven cleaner.

Offers to purchase, especially unsolicited ones, should be considered with caution.

Source for Number 11 Blades
NOBLNG replied to Tom Geiger's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I couldn’t find them on Amazon.ca today, so I ordered some of these. The reviews were pretty good on them. The cheaper DIYSELF ones had horrible reviews. EDIT: These ARE made in china. A fresh one cuts styrene nicely. -

I bought these a couple years back from Amazon. I don’t recall what I paid, but they seem to be pretty good quality and “made in USA” ! I have some z-series from Michaels ($6.99/5) that I save for foil work. They don’t seem to have them anymore though.? -
Available for use by everyone thankfully is the “edit” button.

Welcome back to the hobby. Here is how to search for info on the forum.

Up to no good I’d be if I didn’t have this hobby to keep me grounded.

I like it!? -
Beautiful!? And great photography.

Beautiful work!? I too have never been a fan of the color shifting paint, but it really looks great on this one. Love the detailing on the wheels too.

Thanks Guys! I have a ‘57 Chevy that was red, so that’s what they were for. They’re in the pond now!?

Right turns on red lights are not always allowed.

The smaller Art Minds ones are from Michaels (leather working section). The larger ones I believe are from Princess Auto.
