RA is one of the best tracks in the country. I always liked going to that track. -

They did it to keep cost down and competitive racing on the track. It's say it works pretty darn well. -

Very historic day... the drought has lifted on Brumos, and a overall good day for Porsche. The DPs kind of grow on you. I used to hate the look of them too. JPM is a wanker, couldn't believe he was such a whiner in the winners circle. Donnon they musthave explained it a jillion times, plus all the DPs are labbled acrossed the upper windsheild what motor they are running. -
Racing season officially on its way.

Yeah, the first time the driver just lost it and spun on the curb pucturing the tank and taking out the fuel pump. the second got into the back of a Porsche, and the last one the NASCAR guy stuffs it into the tires. Something happened. Up to speed now but lost a lot of time. the 59 Brumos car is leading! ??? The formerly leading 58 car must have had a long stop. Brakes pads? -

Like I said... The Banner Pontiac just dropped 5 laps down now running 10th and falling... so something happened, looks to be back up to speed now. -

Hobbs is something else. He always sounds like he's been drinking too much. Yeah, awesome racing. It's good to see in these long races there isn't anyone pulling miles out ahead Go Brumos! Told you so. Mistakes, and all three Mazdas are way way way way way behind 31, 34, and 51 laps behind all from diver errors. Chip got a car out front in DP right now, but I think it's pit sequence. Otherwise it's Brumos Penski Brumos. I am surprised to see Pontiac out front to, nobody was expecting that. Maybe they are running hard and the car wont last. -

BTW the sched was revised. Starting on Fox noon local fl time. I think the Porsche is a new car too. The Porsche guys were threatening to quite last year if they didn't do something about the Pontiacs. Can't blame them, there was a string of races where they could even crack the top ten, and when Porsche can't crack the top 3 race after race there is a problem with the series. Yeah, I think it will be a while before we see a finish like the last couple of laps of Sebring like the one between Melo and Bergmeister. That was good stuff, although Melo went a little over the top in the final straight. -
ya gotta take one step further than that and thats where the savvy comes in... ya just need to know how to control it, which is an art in itself. You have to see into the future as well as know the past.

There is more problems than that with Hobby Town. Unless they changed drastically, it is real hard to make a good go of it with the HT Franchise... and that not a problem exclusive to franchise hobby stores. It seems to be a problem in virtually ever hobby store. The problem is like every other retail is no one thinks there is anything special about being a retail clerke. The attitude is anyone can do it, so they get paid on the mind set and hobby stores are the worst about paying people what they are worth. And most people get into because of their love for the hobby, but they also get burnned out because you cannot typically make a real living from it - and under increasing demands. It is also imperative to have an online wearhouse division with competent people to keep up with websites, inventory, emails and quick shipping. And if you are going to be a hobby shop be a hobby shop. Not whatever, toy, puzzles, and all the other non-related stuff that shows up in hobby stores. If you are the very best at it they will come regardless of the price or how big or small you are. Porsche was once one of the smallest, yet independant, and most profitable car manufacture in the world. Now one of the largest, independant, and still the most profitable - and successful. Wal Mart doesn't have the mentality for it. So I'd have a well stocked shop covering all the basis with good employees who were paid what they were worth and excel in customer service. I would not limit my inventory to the big distributors because it's easy. I would have the people on the pulse of the patrons be buyers for the store and give people choice, on the store front side. On the warehouse side, excellent communication, customer service and fast shipping. The rest will take care of itself. But that's what it comes down to. Is customer service, which most people who promote customer service are really quite clueless. It isn't always just tell someone what they want to hear, that always leads do bending the truth and lies - always. If you are honest, upfront and spell it out so they understand - that will go a lot further than some hotshot sales jickie who can sell the London Bridge. I would consider hosting clubs, events etc within the store itself. I have had some real good experiences with doing that and some not so good ones. I have found very little evidence that it does promote business growth, most of the time its more trouble and costly than its worth. Sorry. I would however, be very open to sponcering outside clubs and events. And the best thing I could do is just to listen, which none of these owners what to really listen. Last but not least dancing girls on Wednesdays

That was crazy stuff. Mazda's are fast there, however, the Porsche teams have more experience. They have the car, the drivers, and the team. If Mazda is to win they will have to work for it. I doubt there will be a GT overall winner, the only way would be if some weather comes in and a bunch of DPs crash out or break. -
