  1. Finished the 427 recently from an AMT/Ertl release. This kit is coming out again by Round 2 later this summer. The GT390 was built from a $7.49 Hobby Lobby clearance kit a couple years ago. Both were painted with Duplicolor Wimbledon White from a spray can. These are some of my favorite AMT kits, but I can advise to leave the horns off of the radiator support, since they cause problems with body/chassis fitment.
  2. Just completed. After I learned how much these kits had been selling for at swap meets, I grabbed the recent re-release and put it on the top of my to-build stack. Except for the door mirror and fire extinguisher, all three models were built straight from the box. I removed the Galaxie's chassis promo scripts as well as the Falcon's wipers. MCW Guardsman Blue airbrushed, Duplicolor spray can for Wimbledon White, Tamiya TS54 on the trailer, and Testors Star Spangled Blue for the Falcon.
  3. Nice job on a fun old kit. I tackled it as a kid, and did a much better job the second time around a couple years ago.
  4. Nice job! I'm also finishing one in Guardsman Blue, part of the Cal Drag Combo. The first one I did in that color was a giveaway model a couple years ago.
  5. Awesome job! Here's a photo of me with the Cougar and David Carter's '51 Business Coupe restomod. It had a Studebaker V8 and 3-speed overdrive from a pickup, Vintage A/C, etc. He sold it to a Studebaker fan who drove it all the way across the U.S. Afterwards he did a Karmann Ghia electric conversion before he passed away just a few years ago.
  6. Fantastic! I remember a ride in the back seat of one from Zurich to the Burgundy region of France and back in the early 80s.
  7. Really nice - I may have bought a '68 Cougar from the same seller (attached photo is how I finished it). I found a never-completed '67 kit with original box for $62 on E-bay a couple years ago - Only the engine had been glued together and painted red over 50 years previously. That seller even included an October, '66 issue of Motor Trend which had the '67 Cougar, Camaro, and Mustang on the cover!

    Awesome models.

  10. Olli, your models are outta-sight! I loved seeing them.
  11. Agreed, Oliver. As an owner of a real '68 Cougar, I have a fondness to this car, and being half-Swiss, I like the scenes filmed in Switzerland. We went up the Schilthorn with its Bond Museum two years ago, and they recently found the barn where the marriage proposal happened, located near the Lake of Thun.
  12. Thanks, Larry. I think I can fix that wonky chassis positioning, but will let the model sit for a week or so before attempting it.
  13. This was my second convertible conversion from AMT's old kit. The AMT '73 Cougar kit has the convertible top boot, and I used the chassis and engine bay from that kit, which are the same parts as were in MPC's old '69-'73 Cougars. Sadly, I superglued the chassis onto the body crooked this morning, and I'm not going to try and correct it. Interesting subject-one of the three Cougars used in the movie sold at auction in London for $481,000 last December. The top-down scenes filmed in Portugal showed the car without the ski rack- all scenes filmed in the Swiss Alps including James' marriage proposal inside the barn showed the top up and two pair of skis on a trunk rack. The Cougar was driven by "Bond Girl" Contessa Teresa (Tracy) di Vicenzo, played by the late Dianna Rigg. This was a fun project even though it didn't turn out perfect.
  14. Andy, the A/C compressor and hoses are from the AMT '62 Thunderbird. At a show/swap meet in January, a vendor was selling two of those kits in one box for $15, likewise Revell's '70 Boss 429 Mustang, so I grabbed both deals.
  15. Gerry will answer Facebook PMs. Canadian, from British Columbia. His prices are reasonable and shipping fast. I've also done one of his '58 Ford 300s and a '68 Cougar.
  16. Nice, some people complain about this kit, but I don't find any fitment issues at all with it. It's much better than AMT's old '68 GT-500.
  17. Correct, Rex, Gerry did supply the body interior tub, dashboard, 2 seats and 2 headrests. Cleanup took a little over an hour - a Dremel Multimax sanding tool comes in handy. I should have glued the dash a tad lower-body fitment was a little tricky for that reason.
  18. Just finished using the excellent Revell kit, an aftermarket resin body and standard interior with no console, and a few parts box pieces. It's not perfect, but probably my best resin result yet. Traction bars came eight to a set from Shapeways.
  19. Outstanding. I bought this kit still sealed from the local hobby shop last year for $18, and I think they have a couple more. I guess not a big demand for these. Mine will get built eventually.

    1960 DeSoto

This is the view from the drive I mentioned that motivated me to build. The front end styling with its whale mouth grill is about as bizarre.
  21. Nice, following this one during a recent AACA club drive motivated me to finish mine. My wife said that this view reminded her of a cat's face, and the front with its whale mouth grill is just about as bizarre.
  22. Nice, Michelle. I owned a yellow '74 2.8 V6 for a couple years, an ok but not really loved car. I've found a couple nice yellow die cast early Capris in 1/16 and 1/43 scale, but never liked the Capri IIs enough to get and build the AMT kit.

    Mazda MX5

Very nice! I attempted Mazda's Soul Red as a Japan-market RHD with the driver figure. I've also done the Fujimi NC MX-5 with the engine, a pretty persnickety kit, but it came out nice. Almost impossible to find those at a reasonable price now.
  24. Nice, especially the photo of the '64s lined up. I still use Bare Metal Foil as little as necessary, especially with Molotow out now. Tolle Arbeit, Helmut!
