thank you guys, I quite liked it myself until I saw that last post, and it's made me want to make a change to it. But for the better Ismael, that's an excellent idea and danged if it was one that I wished had crossed my mind when it counted. Had I thought that creatively, I could've painted an Alclad Candy Red pinstripe on the drivers side roof line. It'll look awesome against the matte black, but to do that now, I'd be a bit concerned that it would mean the red line would be raised against the surface of the current paint. I'm even not sure I could get that kind of intense red now without at least 5 layers of paint and whilst the paints are thin, they don't stand up to well to polishing. I have a Revell BMW DTM in my stash that I am also thinking of making into a street version, so I'm going to save that idea for that. I think that's going to look really awesome! I'm going to look at some creative pin striping on Google later Thank you so much for that awesome idea Ismael!! I'm glad I thought of it. Thanks again guys for your kind posts Simon

OK, take 6 - the hangar bays - starting with the smaller front bay which is the Greenstrawberry PE parts Now for the main hangar bay - which is a mixture of Falcon 3D resin and GS PE. I'm not finished with it by a long shot and still need to add more detail to it And lastly, prepping the body ready for the sidewalls to go in and their associated fibre optics. This was not a fun task and took a while to do. You start with this And end with this And that is you up to date - in a very abridged version. I'm getting read to take some more pictures of where I am up to so will update this again soon Please feel free to ask questions! I will pre-answer one now (one I get a lot of) and that is no - the details are not film accurate and are just me adding my own flavour to it Thank you for looking in and I hope you like what you see Si

And now for the neck and hangar bays I'm using the Falcon 3D resin printed parts as well as some Green Strawberry PE but predominantly, the details are just bits from 1/700 ship models as well as strip styrene. The cream coloured parts are resin copies of bit I use a lot of Garbage chute installed: Altogether with paint on: And on the inside:

part 2 - the bridge (roof first) Again, first pic shows roughly what you start with then onto what I've done to it and now Under paint: Bridge face plate: The underneath of the bridge: some of the details I've added won't be seen much once it's done - but I know they're there I opened up some spaces and added detail for interest More in a minute

hello again everyone I have been working on this since August last year - it's the Zvezda SD - a kit which probably doesn't need any introduction. I'm on a few different forums, so likely that a few of you already know abut this build. There is a fair amount to show you, so I'll try to break it down to as little as possible for now to catch you up, but once I'm done with my side project, I will be coming back to this. It's quite draining but it'll be worth it (I hope) Starting with the engine assembly, you'll see what it looks like standard and then what t looks like after I'm done with it With some added detailing: Under paint: part 2 in a minute

Hi guys This is my most recent car build - the Tamiya Calibra DTM. I've painted it black because I personally think it looks much more menacing in Matte Black After seeing the Zakspeed version, I got hooked on black cars I'm not much of a car modeller but I am trying to be better, which is why I joined here to pick up some hints and tips Without more amble, I present my personalised Calibra I'm open to constructive critique as that will only make me better Thanks for looking Si

Hi everyone. This is my first contribution to this forum, so be gentle I generally build sci-fi and this is one of my favourite builds of late. It's my take on the Industrial Mechanika 1/35 Dragonfly flying craft. I love this machine and the Deathhead Moth flying machine as well (although I haven't been able to buy one yet, I would like to) It's a mixed media kit - the body being resin and the wings photo etched with clear acetate sandwiched between the wing panels. I added some left over PE bolt heads for interest only. The base is scratch built and it has working landing lights. The kit was painted in Alclad and the wood decals were from a German company I can never remember the name of. They're very thin and tear so easily, but they do look good Anyways, that's my first contribution to this forum. I am currently working on the Zvezda Star Destroyer which I am detailing and lighting etc. I can co a WIP here if anyone is interested? At any rate, thank you for looking at my Dragonfly See you around soon Si

thanks for the warm welcome guys - I hope to be able to contribute something worth while looking at one of these days Steve, I hope your daughter enjoyed Melbourne and the other parts of Australia? At least she wasn't here yesterday when the mercury tipped 42 and hotter on the out skirts - it was not a pleasant day

Ladies and Gentlemen: My C7R: 2016 Daytona winner
Madhatter replied to ismaelg's topic in Model Cars
Sorry to bring an old thread up again, but I have been wanting to see the end result of this build as My link to your WIP only went to 3 pages for some reason so I haven't seen anything else of it. And now, I' finally got to see it. All I can really say is - Wow! It certainly came out beautifully despite all of your frustrations. I just bought this kit to do one of these days and I was pointed to your thread by another fellow who also admired your work - evidently with good reason. I will be borrowing a few ideas for when I come to mine. After your engine fit issue, I am tempted to just make it Curbside. Along with the dash and window fixes, it should keep me entertained for a while! Thanks for sharing -
I'm sorry to derail your thread slightly Turberticus , but Ismael did you ever finish this build off? I was directed to it by another person on a different forum and I thought your's was one of the best examples I've seen, but it seemed to stop near painting. Is it still an active build or did you finish it?

Greetings everyone, I'm new here so thought best to say hi before I start posting any comments - so "Hi" I generally build sci-fi stuff as well as your usual host of other subjects, but where I normally post don't care too much either way about car modelling. I enjoy car modelling, so I thought I would join somewhere that is catered for me to enjoy it even more I have this fetish presently for DTM cars being turned into semi street cars after becoming somewhat addicted to the Need For Speed game on my mobile. Given that I am in my forties, I would normally see this to be somewhat sad in it's own right but TBH - I am really just enjoying seeing those sexy but beefy, muscular and testosterone fueled Euro DTM's like the BMW or Corvette C7R and dare I say it, yes - even the Calibra done up like street machines - but just without all those sponsorship deal stickers and the manufacturer label plastered all over the car (just in case you forget what it is they were driving). And no tribal motifs - that's just not my style. I like it plain and as non-stickered as possible. My forum name just follows me where ever I go - I can not get rid of it. I swear it's not a conscious choice And yes - I am one of those annoying people who like to use emoticons - but I use them in a restrained and civilized manner.... I promise I look forward to chatting to you in the coming times. Thanks for having me! bye for now Simon
