  1. I like Fred's idea of the plain brown wraper. Sleeperball. Anything goes as long it is plain and boring on the outside. Wish they made a kit of the 79-91 Crown vic. would be perfect. A porsche can be boring right, that was the 914 wasn't it? Tim
  2. I have used HO scale slot car armiture wire wrapped around a pin as good return springs. Tim
  3. I have used rattle cans for quite a few cars. I have found that if I spray it almost to the point of running. it will flatten out and produce a good job. Thanks to an old friend, Larry Hornsby Jr for that info. The rattle can job on my BRE Trans Am came out fantastic. Tim
  4. I have Johan torino body that I have had a while. It would be great to get a better detailed kit to build it finally. Tim
  5. What I would like to see: 73-77 Buick Century any year Sportwagon 65-72 79-91 Crown Victoria 03-04 Mercury Marauder
  6. Any one interested in a NNL show in the Rocky Mtn area? I am working at getting one. Date is going to be Aug. Place up here in Laramie WY. it will be in conjunction with the annual Gem city car classic. I will post up when I get more info. Tim PS: Anyone want to help out shoot me a PM.
  7. I hope to 1: be there as long as the weather is good. 2: I have something the throw on the table. Well #1 is up to mother nature and well uh # 2 is whether or not I get my lazy a$$ going and finish something. many in the works nothing done Tim
  8. Hope to have something done to throw on the table. Tim
  9. Randy, Have any info on the Mid America show in OCT??? Tim
  10. I used to think the same way that a spray can was easier and quicker to use. Until I set up my own spray booth using an old entertainment center, I then began using the air brush more and more. only using the cans for primer. I have moved and now don't have that luxury anymore. I still break out the air brush but not as often. I have a Paasche H-series single action and a Testors double action. I however use the Paasche the most. I think it sprays better than the Testors. Tim
  11. I was shown how to make my own candy clear paints years ago. Mix tamiya clear red with clear (I just use a plasticoat clear laquar ) That is sprayed over a gold base. Works good. Tim
  12. I found a tutorial on Youtube. Worked for me. Made the suspension on my Burt Reynolds Trans Am from brass.
  13. Good info, I need to get some super 77. I have a couple flocking projects to do.
  14. There is also a resin pro-street chassis on Ebay

  16. I have a delayed WIP Diamond REO that is going to be a Semi pulling truck. Ray, Where did you get the tires on your build??? Tim
  17. Well I need to enter and finish this year. last year turned into a fiasco, let's leave it at that. I will post up what I will be building, and (hopefully finishing) for next years race. Tim
  18. In Salt Lake, there is the club that puts on the GSL. I cannot remember the name though. Maybe you could contact someone through the web site or even the model car museum. Tim
  19. There must be more of us Car modelers around as there is quite a few entries at the Good-Guys Colorado Natonals model contest. unless one of you are stacking the deck??? LOL. I attended the IPMS show in Loveland it was a nice show but as with all IPMS shows it concintrated on Aircraft. 7 catagories for vehicles. We need to get something going in this area. Tim
  20. Model car garage, is one of the better ones even though I know one part on a PE set is wrong. Tim
  21. I use autocolor library it gives you the paint # and can match it up to other GM, Ford, or Mopar brands easily. I found the my 1-1 scale 71 Buick Sportwagon is painted Cortez Gold, first year color for Buick but same color was available on the '70 Oldsmobiles. I know that Scale Auto did an article on Mopar colors, listing whens, what years, etc. Tim
  22. I use Dupli-color auto spray can paint. I works well straight out of the can. I however heat the can by holding the can under the hot water faucet. once it gets warm shake it repeat until it doesn't cool off while shaking it. I layed down a beautiful black on my Burt Reynolds edition Trans Am then a Dupli-color gloss clear. came out great. I too use theDupli-color hi build primer. mostly gray as white doesn't hide the color or body work well, IMO. The factory didn't use a certain color primer, they used what ever they had. Tim
  23. I am working on a 6x6 type project. I am in need of a front drive axle for a project. Does anyone know where I can find one, either kit or aftermarket. I will also need a transfer case for the same project? Tim
  24. 2013 Ford Focus ST 2004 Yukon Denali XL 1989 Lincoln town car 1971 Buick Sportwagon 2008 Harley Davidson Softail Fatboy
  25. I usually run the fawcett till it is hot then hold the can under. when the can is warm remove from the water and shake it. I repeat until tthe can no longer turns cold when you shake it. Tim
