The price he quoted was actually about the same as other shops I contacted, all were within $30 from each other. I chose him because he said he had done 100's of fuel sumps.

Absolutely amazing at what some people will try passing off on others. Hate to hear about your bad luck and your right if you want that car fixed the right way you'll most likely need to do it. About 20 years ago I was working for my oldest uncle in his body shop. He had a friend in poor health unable to work and the guys daughter was working to take care of him, well she has a wreck one afternoon on her way home from work. My uncle towed the car to his shop to fix it at no charge, one day while working on it he tells me to get it ready for a new floor pan and I say to my uncle " your never gonna see that floor pan and your doing this out of your own pocket don't worry about the pan" my uncle looks at me and says " when this car leaves my shop it has my name on it and I'll be d@mned if it leaves here like that" Guys like that are few and far between anymore.

I've gotta take this tank to another shop so it can be welded properly. I agree..

Some people just don't care about pride at all, it's all about making a fast dollar with no concern about their reputation. I spoke with a guy at a local radiator shop about cleaning a fuel tank and welding a fuel sump on, the guy tells me he has done 100's of sumps so no problem and says $165 will cover everything. I get a call yesterday afternoon to come pick up my tank and this is what I see when I got there. Tacked in a few places then poorly soldered over. After a very heated argument and him calling the police I basically was told pay or don't pay and leave my tank.. Just for curiosity I put water in to see how much it would leak and it leaks badly..I could NEVER let anything like that leave my shop with my name and reputation on it.

I've tried boiling water on a badly warped resin and it worked out ok but I definitely wouldn't try it on anything vintage. A hairdryer works good but you've gotta be careful with it also, don't ask me how I know ?

I'm hoping America's list happens next season with a better callout system that makes things a little bit easier for all. -

I agree....... I don't think anyone has anything for Axman at this point, the only car I've seen make a pass as fast is Ryan Martin just not sure he can get there in time. -

I wonder if that's why Larson was not invited to America's List? -

He did a heck of a job saving that car, that was some great driving. I agree about Cantu, Other than bragging rights no prizes or cash is awarded. He was willing to sacrifice integrity for bragging rights. He should be ejected from the event at once. It's one thing to attack a man for no reason but to attack someone from behind is just plain cowardly... -
Very nice , I have one I'm gonna build sometime soon.

I think I know who crashes but I'm not a 100% positive. I agree axman was clearly in the wrong, he should have raced chief and bet some good money because he is killing them every week. Heck at this point idk if anyone will beat axman, that chevy ll is crazy fast. I'm not sure what the whole deal is but it clearly shows Cantu taking a cheap shot on Chucky Davis, very poor sportsmanship and if that is the case he should be removed from the list. We'll see next week -
No problem and the offer stands if you need any parts..

I have a pair of mpc 79/80 camaros in my parts box if you need any parts.

You have got it looking good. It looks like the bottom of your headlight trim needs to go out just a little more. Nice scratch building

That's some impressive work!

Shawn has been doing a good job holding that #3 spot down, I did hear him tell Dave that he put nitrous back on the murder nova to spool his turbos and launch the car. Whatever he's done it's been working well. -

You may be correct, maybe Johhny quick calls him back out. But I know Cantu has to be close to Chucky, that truck has been making fast passes in either lane. -

Not sure but I noticed Cantu and Johnny Quick were having issues so I'm sure it's something to do with that but Cantu is right behind Chucky Davis on the list so who knows. We'll find out monday.
