michelle replied to Tommy124's topic in Model Cars
nice work my father had a 70 toronado that was gold back when he was 16 in the mid 70's it was a handme down from his aunt he had it till he went to college the first year he was not alowed to have his car on campus so he he left it back at his home and drove it when he went back home till he lent it to a friend and he smashed the front passanger side up when he collided with a traffic light post when he took it to a party in pittsburgh and he had never drivin around there before that friend got my dad another car a 76 olds cutlass which was his second car till the late 80's when he got a late 80's z28 which he had till i was 7 then he sold it and started to by suvs with v6 engines -

Fujimi Astro Van
michelle replied to Mad Slammer's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
very cool if i could find one of these i would mod it make the mystery machine from the 4 scooby doo direct to video films from the late 90's and early 2000's zombie island, witches ghost , alien invaders and cyber chase those films the mystery machine was a chevy astro van with paneled windows -
depends on weither you want to do a 2 door or 4 door or a convertible 2 door cause the 66-68 marquis had the same basic design as the mercury parklane if you want to make one of those years the best starting place is the amt 66 parklane kit since it is the only year of that car made a convertible 69 coupe i would think you could use a 2 door 69 galaxy as basis and that a rear section of the roof from a 70 galaxie and merge with the 2 door 69 galaxy body then have to make new grilles and tail light panels the 4 door yes the 70 galaxy is perfect choice

yes but it was a rebuilder i had that was missing the original engine and had this engine bottom insert in the engine bay chassis opening i found out that this model was originally a 70 ltd sedan promo before it was converted into a 70 galaxy 500 police car kit by amt/ertl and this model would be the best choice to mod into a 70's marquis

this is my final car model for the year it took me a 3 month to make this model from modding the body and other parts parts also moding the figure to have the interior pan to fit in the body of the car took 3 days alone to sand and reshape i made the vinyl roof with painters tape that i painted flat black yes this is from the classic five-0 series and the figure is supose to be jack lord's steve mcgarrett and i added a car phone radio as well as the police cb radio since in several late seasons episodes mcgarrett's merc sometimes had it and the cb and sometimes just the phone and then just back to having the cb radio the engine is a revell 351 ford engine from a 76 torino kit and i drilled a whole in the oil pan so the axel rod for the front wheels could go through it

thank you and cool can't wait to see what you come up with for yours -
i made this revell mystery machine kit to look like the mystery machine from the new scooby doo movie scoob! i used lots of stuff from my many parts boxs i even added treads to the solid smooth plastic tires which are from tires from a pull back chevy silverado from walmart i cut the side walls from the tires and then slid them around the plastic tires of the mystery machine kit they fit snuggly and no glue was needed i cut back door windows into the van used part of a pop sycle stick to make the shelves in the back of the van i added wood stain to the little shelves i made to make them look like normal finished hard wood shelves i scratch made the surfboards on the roof along with the cone shaped dish on the roof i ordered some rust powder on amazon a month ago along with some other non plastic model related items and i got those items within a week of ordering them but still have not recived the rust powder so the rusted lower parts the van should have i could not do
