  1. Hi John! Thanks for the compliments. Your Camaro idea could be very stylish, I agree. The only Camaro I ever did was the highly modified 69 (see below). But I might steal your idea in 2022, who knows... I have the Corvair in my stash, and I'll be on the lookout for the original Camaro! Have a safe 2022! CT
  2. Thank you Bill! Well, it gets a lot of second glances... and generates a lot of questions. That's the fun part! CT
  3. You are right. Around 2006, at the Rhinebeck NY Goodguys event, a gentleman from Conn. had a black 29 roadster with a complete SHO powertrain and transaxle in the trunk! Needless to say, it was the talk of the fairground. CT
  4. Thank you Robert! I'll pick-it up at my next visit... This would be a very nice engine to put in a street-rod. Dare to be different! CT
  5. Hi! The MPC Daytona transporter (concept truck) has a FWD Pontiac 6 and transaxle. Can't comment on the detail level, however, but I will look at the one in my stash. I also recently saw an AMT Taurus Police car, dating back about 10 years, at an OOP specialized shop, and the box stated it had a V6 engine. The box was sealed, so I could not verify if it was the Duratech or the good old 3.8. Maybe someone having built that kit would know? CT
  6. Hi Cliff! Thank you. You should know that I agonize over color selection on every built. I do test panels over and over again before I ultimately make up my mind. Oh well... CT
  7. Hi Anders! You certainly have the knack for superb paint finishing, and that is a great and diverse portfolio. Bravo! CT
  8. Hi Steve! Thank you for the compliments, they mean a lot to me coming from a modeler of your caliber and creativity. And that is without mentionning your patience, And that, my friend, I don't have in sufficient amount to document my building sessions as yourself, and many other spectacular modelers, are kind enough to bless us with on this forum. I did it once for a commissionned built for a special issue magazine, and I found it very demanding, photo wise. I'm not very good at pictures... And I always have 3 to 4 projects evolving at once on my bench (I know, it's not the ideal way to go!). I would quickly get loss in the photo schedule, I fear. So be on the lookout, they will ultimately trickle down, completed. on this fine forum. Happy holidays to you and your loved ones, and a great '22 at the bench. Regards, CT
  9. Hi Ray! That silver and gloss are truly spectacular. Bravo! CT
  10. Hi Tom! Indeed, lotsa planning. The scissor doors were a lot of "engineering" . CT
  11. Thank you Ray! One of my favorite car design of all times. CT
  12. Thanks Craig! CT
  13. Thank you Larry! CT
  14. Hi! Just realized I forgot the latest completed project. Oooops, I'm getting older by the day! Another senior moment. Here it is: CT
  15. Hi Ron! I use them often, but for interior parts only. Don't thin them too much, because they will end up like skimmed milk, and the base color/primer influence the final shade. So you would then need too many coats to achieve a satisfying result. CT
  16. Hi Jimmie! You'll love it here, great creativity and camaraderie, Welcome aboard! CT
  17. Thank you Sir for the compliments. Much appreciated. CT
  18. Hi Jean-Philippe! This is quite a rejuvenation, bravo! CT
  19. Thank you Bruce! I had a 1/1 73 Ranchero. Wanted the 72, but was not able to find one. That Johan model had to do! CT
  20. Hi Michal! What a great mix, bravo! CT
  21. Thank you Martin! I agonized about the clamshell opening rear roof section. Picking a cut-line that would not mar the celebrated flying buttress rear pillars was a long process, but it ultimately worked, and when closed, is barely noticeable. Got lucky... CT
  22. Salut Mario! The Charger was a lot of work, but I was looking to do something that was rarely seen with this iconic car. Turned-out acceptable! I have a 58 TBird Custom on the workbench now that should entertain you. More later on this site... CT
  23. Thank you David! I agree that putting a "modern" roof on a vintage car kind of "brings it to modern time ( windshield angle, flush glass, no rain gutter, etc.). It is, if your mash-up parts fit together reasonnably well, a fast track to fundamentally altering the look of a classic. Case in point: the Starliner with late Caprice wagon roof. A match made in Heaven! CT
  24. Thank you Al! However. my wife feels that I spend a smidge too much time on my models. Oh well... CT
  25. HI! While I did not spend as much time as I would have liked at the bench in '21, with 4 projects still being completed, I managed to finish 7 (plus one special issue "commissionned built" 61 Impala ProTouring that I refrain from showing here for "contractual reasons"). So much styrene, so little time! Best wishes to all of you for the new year. CT
