  1. I agree with you 100% on that, it's terrible. They need to put a little more thought in what they are doing. The copper BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH they used in the Sidewinder was a disappointment. I passed on it also.
  2. That's the very reason I haven't bought a Round 2 kit in a long while. Half ass kits, with the price we have to pay and the original pieces not included. They think they can make it right by adding printed tires and more decals. I would have liked to have bought a few, but I'll pass now. More money for Revell kits
  3. I'll pass on the current version, if they put back to the original version I'll be in for a few
  4. I agree, they should have left well enough alone. I was looking forward to it. I'll pass and save my wheels for the kits that I have
  5. Nice build Jim, he was my favorite funny car driver when I was in my teens. I remember going to Bristol in 77 and he had was killed like two weeks prior.
  6. VERY WELL SAID. I also had the Bearcat kit when came out. I also enjoyed the series, and your right that's the only reason I got the kit. The time and money spent to develop new kits when we do get them if something is not right, the bashing begins. I understand that some are anal about things being off, but constructive criticism is the way to go instead of finger point and name calling. Sending a calm email pointing out the error's instead of (should I say hate mail?) doesn't help either side. When a subject comes out that is not favored by all, that is your right not to like it, why say it's a waste of plastic and so on. I, for one am glad that Atlantis purchased the molds, there again it's not everyone's favorite subject's it was almost like it pissed some off, there again some us of happen to like them. It is definitely a different world out there than it used to to be when I started building kits in the late 60's, but nothing stay's the same and no one stay's on top forever. And to those that said I back out of what I post, I say what I mean, and I mean what I say. I don't back up for anyone, and I can back it up. So if you have a problem send me a personal message, this board isn't the place
  7. I don't know where you read if we don't buy the kits, they'll go away. I said for one reason or another. Me I don't get upset over a toy being a little off. There way more important things to worry about.
  8. That's exactly my point, nothing is ever good enough for some people. An inaccurate kit is better than nothing. When you get down to it, its a toy. And I doubt very seriously if anyone here could do a better job than they do. I appreciate what we have out there to build, yes some are off but big deal. If they all stop putting out kits for one reason or another, it would give us time to stop and think and wish that we haven't had been whiny little bitches.
  9. I agree 100%. It's a big world out there, and when we go to shows the plane and ship builders hold their own. I would say the powers to be at Atlantis know what they are doing or they wouldn't be doing it. Yes the automotive builders on this board ( I am just one of many ) is supreme but we are talking little fish in a BIG pond. With all the complaints and whining that goes on amazes me. We need new kits the old ones are dated and no good any more. I remember when all we had in a nova kit was the AMT Old Pro and how we need a new tooled nova. Well Revell stepped up to the plate and gave us one. All the crying about the fender opening were wrong and one thing after another. Its a model kit kit for crying out loud, not a life or death situation. You get what you want and still never satisfied, worse than a bunch of women talking about another ones home made dress. I tell you what needs to happen is all the arm chair warriors need to pool their money together and start their own model company and see how long they stay in business.
  10. If you have been unsure about ordering from him, don't be. The tires are fantastic and the carburetors are so detailed it's unreal. They look like he took a shrink gun to real ones. My order was smooth from start to finish.
  11. I received my order from Competition resins and I am very pleased. The parts look great and very clean and the shipping was fast. I sent to much for the shipping, and the extra money was sent back to me. That itself is unheard of now day's, Roger is a standup guy and I will order from Competition again.
  12. Like I and other's have said, he's busy. There's more people than just one that has order's in.
  13. I just order some pieces the other day, when I emailed him he got back to me with in 2 days. He is very busy but has nice items . Best carburetors on the market.
  14. Ed does quality work. Everything that I have bought from him has been very nice.
  15. that has the Trans Am high back bucket seat and the wheels from the MPC flip nose 57 Chevy. I have already bought two other kits for this build. It would be cheaper for me just to buy the other parts instead of two more kits. Thanks.
  16. Now that's the way to build a kit. Clean, detailed and not over the top with a bunch of B.S. Great build.
  17. I couldn't have said it better myself Dave. It's the me first syndrome, I don't care what you like cause I don't like. I had the Cutlass back when I was a kid, it was an alright kit but it was nothing to write home about. If it was to make a comeback I would probably buy one, but being selfish and shooting down what others want and have been waiting for isn't right. I'll buy a Gypsy Wagon when it comes out, maybe two. I'm sure there are some that thinks the Cutlass is a waste. You people better be glad what we are getting, and support R2. I like seeing kits that have not seen the light of day for decades. When the company's do come out with a NEW kit there is nothing but complaining. The windows are wrong, the fender lip is to big on and on. Wake up it's a TOY a MODEL CAR, your isn't any worse than the person that bought the same kit. Your a builder aren't you, fix what is wrong or shut up. Model car building is a hobby, not a life or death situation. You don't like what we are getting and could do a better job, the banks make loans everyday.
  18. You make a good point. These kits are aimed at kids, that is the same thing I think when someone complains about something being off. They are model kits, toys to some. Not real car's, they were made to have fun with.
  19. He preferred small blocks over big blocks, but when NHRA done away with weight breaks I think 81 he had no choice. I don't remember him ever running a big block vega
