  1. I’m glad to see this one back just for that engine alone
  2. my go to online shops are hobylinc, spotlight, model roundup, scalehobbyist-mainly for scratch building materials, tools, and painting supplies- and for my jdm itch hlj (hobby link japan) all offer great service however hlj’s international shipping charges can get pretty high for large orders
  3. agreed there were some great kits that i would like another not 8-10 years old (and something resembling skill) crack at
  4. does anyone make or ever made this? I don’t care if it is a body only conversion , a kit, dealer promo in 1/25 or 1/24
  5. the firestone/bfgoodrich style in the correct 7.75-15 size or 26.25”diameter 7.75” width it really shouldn’t be that hard for the correct-ish style to be in the box from R-M the goodyear power cushion 7.75-15 from that time didn’t have the “pie crust” sidewall just rolled smoothly into the tread
  6. looking good
  7. the Statue of Liberty is impressive as is the rest of the build so far
  8. have one in the stash could never come up with a cohesive plan for it following your build might just solidify some ideas for me
  9. GM did borrow the world wide version of the chevette and reworked it for the american laws as they had no small car for america to save time and $$$ got to say those small bumpers look so much better than our girders errr bumpers
  10. nice work on that lump lindberg calls a 40 ford
  11. the race team set would be nice it could keep my old R8 Gordini company on the shelf
  12. i’d like to see that Daihatsu Midget II kit reissued
  13. I’m looking forward to these
  14. box art has never been a selling point for me i know what i want have researched who makes that kit when the kit was first tooled and what is included so the box could be a plain old white cube with (insert a car model here) scribbled on it
  15. 1:1 belts are 3” with most using a 2” anti-submarine belt between the driver’s legs (some are 3” for different sanctioning bodies and class rules) and do not fold at the adjusters (as shown in your picture) some do fold like your pictures only at the quick release or if not done as a wraparound mount to the rollcage the tabs for bolt/weld in mounting
  16. been waiting on the novas since the first reveal now it’s moved the needle to impatiently waiting
  17. good looking model I didn’t notice the side number location being off until I went back and looked after reading it only thing that caught my attention as wrong was the yellow goodyear lettering l every picture i’ve seen show them as white (but those may be just publicity shots on the old white (bias ply) tires and not actually raced on the yellow (radial) tire that was first used in that race
  18. check with modelhaustires he does have some of the wheels maybe they are something he has and can run
  19. i missed the 4 sets of mirror faces in the pictures
  20. hood could separate for possible future variations, same with the front bumper being separate parts layout would seem to suggest plans for something more race oriented (i’m only speculating based on the second front seat being its own tree) and yes i agree those look awfully similar to a full seat back for those front seats
  21. make sense to me, design it with as much commonality and change whatever insert is needed for the next variant(s)planned. would also limit (or remove) any very thin cutout areas and the possibility of the builder botching the cut ruining a body
  22. the cutlass unit could be modified, looking at the pictures posted, by cutting the swaybar/steering off the control arms cut the forward bit off the crossmember then narrow the crossmember and reattach the swaybar/steering
  23. that fits almost exactly like the supposedly larger GN/GNX unit only the control arms don’t fit up to the rails as nicely, they look more size correct not as elongated as the GN unit, the “spring” lumps and the hub width are about the same and the detail is much better.
  24. the unit out of the GN/GNX fits almost perfectly only the swaybar brackets don’t meet the frame everything else lines up to the frame and track width with the kit supplied (the incorrect 4wd) wheels looks good don’t have an oldsmobile kit to yank the suspension unit out of it, assuming scale accuracy of the olds, would be just slightly too narrow, it’s piece may work better with a 2wd appropriate wheel as a result
