looks great Izzy, I just started polishing mine yesterday, I noticed that your going to attach the front and rear fascia's after painting, I attached mine before. I don't have the instructions so I don't know how Monogram suggested how to do it, but in test fitting I noticed that the chassis can be slid into place during final assembly with the fascia's attached. plus, for some unknown reason I can not get light color paint to match body panels during the painting process. so I attached them before paint and primer.

interesting question, i've had a resin Johan B-body Mopar chassis sitting in my attic since 2003. its from R&R and I only used the body, and not the chassis, so the chassis got thrown into a parts box and forgotten about. over the past 3 years it had held it shape. my attic does'nt get very hot but it gets alot hotter then the rest of the house.

If you ever take the backlot tour at Universal Studios Hollywood you will see a sun beaten 308 from Magnum PI, of course the vehicle next to it may attracks more attention, the Death Mobile from Animal House. which the sun has taken its toll on that as far as the 308 kit goes, my decision to build the Monogram kit was an easy one. I picked it up for $2 Mint In Box at a local Flea Market. I've always wanted to build a 308, but never really looked into what kit was the nicest. I guess I got lucky.

This is early progress on Monograms excellent but very basic 308 GTB kit. painted Cobra Colors Lamborgini Verde Miura. and an attempt to replicate Ferrari's Verde Germoglio. I still need to clear it. which should happen tonight. Here's a good pic. of the car i'm replicating and here's my build so far.

Heads up in Wally World model section
gasman replied to Wildrice's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I need to make "The Trip: out to Wal-Mart one of these days. closest Wal-Mart is about a good 25 minute drive from me. and it sucks, no new kits, (The only $6.00 kits they have are the 66 T-bird and the 57 T-bird,) there in the process of remodeling and the place is a mess, I hate going there, and is right next to a Hobby Shop so I usually spend money there, and then dicide not to go to Wal-mart when i'm out there. The Good Wal-mart is a good 35 minute drive on a good day. They had some of the Gremlins and Pinto's, I almost bought a Gremlin but did'nt, I'm happy I did'nt then. i'd rather build my own then try to strip and repaint a prebuilt one. There building a new one about 10 miles from me. but that won't open for at least another year. Target ownes the area I live in. there's at least 6-7 stores in a 25 mile radius. compared to 1 Wal-Mart. off course I can't say anything bad about Target, i've been an employee there since January and they keep my hobby well funded  I need to get another one of those 65 Chevelle wagons, I've been wanting to build a 65 Lemans wagon for a few years, -

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: Presenting: Finished Z06 *PICS*
gasman replied to ismaelg's topic in WIP: Model Cars
looks great Izzy, I really need to finish mine. I'm not a big Corvette fan but I like the Z06 -
anyone know anything close to this color, this is a very rare Ferrari color called Verde Germoglio. I'm planning on building a Monogram 308 in this color. I thought maybe Lamborgini Verde Miura might be close. but the Lambo color is a bit lighter i'll prohibably just end up using the Lamborgini color since its close enough, I just want to know if there is anything out there that maybe closer

if "here" is here then...

I also agree with Bob and Khart, the problem with that board is that its an old style. very old in fact. if you want to look at old progress of the model there is almost no way to do that unless they have a Fotki account. which most don't I can understand his reasoning why he keeps it, he wants to be able to allow new people to post. but it brings in more trolls then anyone else, also, it does'nt block against SPAM posters who have been putting up useless information recently -

Need some paint help.....
gasman replied to Len Geisler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
although Tamiya does'nt require primer, I would use it anytime around Revell's new plastic. I have no issue's on my Z06 which was painted Tamiya Mica Silver over Tamiya white primer. -
2008 Dodge Challenger
gasman replied to FASTBACK340's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I also like the new Challenger over the Camaro. the Camaro seems to busy to me. but if I had 35K to spend on a muscle cars. I will be going down to my local Subaru Dealer and get a WRX STi, The Camaro, Challenger and even the Mustang are still chasing that car performance wise. If GM is going to build the Camaro they can not afford to build it without killing something off. I think the Monte Carlo is going to the chopping blockits been a sales dud since they redesigned them in 2000. The only reason they havent killed it is becouse of its ties to NASCAR EDIT:, forgot about this little gem coming in 2009, the twin turbo V6 Nissan Skyline GTR
