looks like Revell is doing what they should have done in the first 2005 issue of this kit, releasing it with stock parts and suspension. It would be nice if they updated it to an 08 (new interior) but I doubt it. i'm just happy to see the stock parts

Is the weather affecting your work?
gasman replied to Phil Patterson's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't like painting inside with lacquers anymore. so all of my painting has been done outside I'm hopefully going to get some moon mud primer on my Ferrari Superamerica today. and paint it later this week. all will be done outside on a covered porch. temps have been in the 90's all last week, and very rainy. so way to humid to paint. luckly. this week looks nice so I hope to get some painting done (for the first time since April) -
just read on HH that he just closed up shop. kinda shows what kind of shape the hobby is in right now. although I don't think its going to disappear anytime soon it does look like i'll be spending alot of $$$$$ on Resin kits (which is not a bad thing). I am stocking up on as many kits as I can while I can still get them sorta cheap

The "New" Board looks great!!
gasman replied to Ray's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
i'm digging this new board. its the same speed for me as the old one. I like that the sticky's are seperate from the posts. but I think its time to let some of them go. you have to scroll down pretty far to get to the normal posts -

Was the Model King going to do the Dodge long bed truck?
gasman replied to GMP440's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
yep, the 77 Dodge has been shelved for now, which is a huge shame. I have no interest in all the drag stuff he has coming out, (other then the 69 GTO, since that one's got a stock body). I wish he would reissue some of the great old import cars that AMT did in the early 80's. like the Subie Brat. the VW Rabbit and Scirroco -

gasman replied to Len Geisler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
how is the shipping from his site, I knew of Hiro's work for years (used and still kind of am active over Automotive Forums). I just worried if the price of shipping, My slump began around the same time Cobra Colors closed shop so I'd like to find something close to CC -

Hiroboy Paints....
gasman replied to Len Geisler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm hoping someone in the U.S. steps up and sells these paints. I've heard fantastic things about it, but I'm nervous about ordering paint from out of country -
I going through a serious modelers block right now, I can get something in primer, but thats about as far as I can get it. I've been working on an AMT 75 Blazer for about a month, got it in primer, then lost interest, 2 weeks ago I started an AMT 94 F150 Lightning, then I just lost interest in that and can't seem to find anything I want to build.

Yes i'm building the buried car. I know the area under the front bumper. the rear trim on the tailights, and the headlights are different. is there anything else ii'm missing, I know the interior is different....but there is'nt much left on the 1:1 so it would'nt matter. I'm still trying to figure out how to weather the car. I found out its original color was gold. (believe it or not). i'm thinking maybe pouring some mud all over it would help, also thought of sticking in the bottom of the little pond in the back yard to get some algae on it. but i'm affraid that would kill the fish in the pond.

looks awesome, would be nice if Chevy did that to the 09 Camaro, but It won't happen, Yenko Chevrolet is now a .......Honda dealer.

Time Capsule Plymouth
gasman replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I feel the same way, its looks worse then it really is, but it is sitting really low in the back, notice the algae on the undercarriage. It is sitting on its original 50 year old tires The interior, not pretty I doubt if she will ever start again. a good close shot of the rear fender, does'nt look to bad, although it looks like the paint is bubbling (prohibably from the Battery Acid) here's some excellent pics from Car domain. http://www.cardomain.com/event/2007/06/17/BUR?c=0&p=1 -

Time Capsule Plymouth
gasman replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
as expected. body in decent shape. interior is a mess, barely recognizable. I'm serprised the tires survived. maybe the water helped that. hopefully they won't clean. its needs to be left in it current state. it will end up in some museum somewhere. to tell you the truth its prohibably worth more then a similar completely restored car. -

I was just thinking the same thing. There no info out there at all -
Time Capsule Plymouth
gasman replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
had a conversation ith someone I work with today. and forgot one thing, you need oxygen to produce rust. if the hole was sealed. and very little oxygen got into the vault, then the cars stands a very good chance of being in decent shape. a little soggy, but in good shape. if you notice they used the original beams in which the car was placed in the ground to lift it up. that right there is a good sign. they where still in good shape, and showed very little rust. and they werent protected by the elements. -

she's out of the water, and out of the hole, and surprisingly. they got it out and its still in 1 piece. so there is still hope for it. but notice the rear fender. notice the rear fender. looks like the covering came off, but it looks more muddy then rusty. oh well, guess we'll know at 12.00 P.M. -
87-93 mustang LX coupe/Hatch
gasman replied to white00gt's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
AFX was making one, but it disappeared. someone from HH about 4-5 years ago casted one, but I can remember his name. and I don't know if he's still casting them. if someone steps up to the plate and makes one, i'll buy a couple -
Time Capsule Plymouth
gasman replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think the car will be fairly rusted, tires will be rotted, and interior will be a mess. but the car will still be savable. all be the floors will need to be replaced. fenders will need replaced. but the car will be a good project for a restoration. If the car is a total loss I won't be surprised to see it end up in The Smithonean. I think anyway the car is pulled out of the hole its going to a museum. I wonder what they would think in 1957 if people heard about the car.....on this crazy thing called the Internet :? -

here's more pictures. water was deffinently over the trunk lid. you can still see it here. and you can see here, it looks like the plastic covering has a come apart. and the water has a "rusty" Color to it it is still recognizable as a 57 Plymouth, but, I don't think its going to be pretty underneath.
