Saleen S281 "barricade"

Revell is coming out with an 08 Shelby GT500 kit. thats a little closer then a stock GT kit, but still light years away. alot of scratchbuilding would be needed. -
I was in my LHS shop and noticed that JADA has released some of there diecasts as full plastic kits. has anyone seen these. The diecasts are not really accurate but they are cool looking. and JADA has some diecast kits that have never been done in plastic. although they would need some work to get to somewhat factory stock. THe only kits my LHS had where a Corvette Z06 (already done well by Revell) and 07 GT500 (coming soon from Revell)

who makes parts to convert the AMT 70 Super Bee to a Coronet R/T. I know of one. (won't say but it starts with an A), but there customer service and shipping is not good. I thought I heard of someone else doing them but I never got there name. I need a pitchfork hood and R/T tailpanel and side scoops

I work For Target, I do set up work for them and earlier this morning I notice a sign that said Hot Wheels Snap Kits for $9.99. which I knew had to be the Revell kits. so I go to the back to see and sure enough. there the ex Wheels of Fire snap kits. they came assorted and all we had where the 57 Chevy, C5 Vette Coupe, and Hummer H1. a little more research I find that Target has the 1:16 scale 57 Chevy kit available online. (not cheap though, at 64.99 plus shipping, its cheaper through Model Roundup and Model Express). no full detail kits like the 32 Ford Sedan (Dangit, would have been nice to use my discount to get one of those cheap). I'm guessing maybe Hobbico would rather deal with Target then Wal-Mart. if I wouldn't have seen that sign I wouldn't have even noticed the kits. the boxes only have a tiny Revell logo on them, compared to RC2. which slapped there name on everything

Merc. Benz must have eased up on there licencing. Tamiya's reissuing alot of there old Mercedes kits. notice the 560 on the top of the page. i'm guessing the 348 is the Testors kit, and the 2008 Shelby GT500 is listed as 1:24, either its a misprint or its a new tool diffferent then the Revell 06 GT kit.

What'd You Get For Christmas????
gasman replied to Mike's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
How does that little guy run, I'm debating getting one of those. -
was the issue with the steering wheel corrected? where the spokes are oddly positioned
-
That will be the correct yellow, but the movie car has a metallic pearl appearance to it. so you may want to spray Tamiya Clear Pearl to get the same affect as the 1:1

How Its Made Tv
gasman replied to Dead Gargoyle's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A TV did show how models where produced about 6-7 years ago before Revell sent production overseas. I think it was on discovery. I remember them showing people removing the sprue from the body before it got bagged. the lady yanked the sprue right of the body. which IIRC was a 69 Camaro convertible. that explains why the body was damaged on the sprue side of some Revell bodies -

cool stuff. those AutoArt C6R are nice pieces -
looks great. I just got some of that same color today for my 41 Chevy project. mine won't be shinny. as its getting a coat of dull coat once it is painted. building it high end rat rod style

just got the new Revell 599 GTB today, and i have to say its nice. I know its the same as the Revell AG kit that was released a few months ago. I don't have the Revell AG kit so I can't tell if anything changed. but i know the Revell AG kit was molded in red. and this one is molded in nice white plastic. I have three issues with this kit. first off the box art is terrible. way too much crome and red. although the box art buildup is nice they should have shot it at a different angle, the next issue is why there is any crome in this kit. there is almost no crome on the 1:1. its not an issue getting the crome off but it would have been nice for everything to be done in white plastic. and finally. my last issue with the kit. are the wheels. there accurately done, albeit a little small. but why they chose these wheels pictured below over these much better looking ones, i'll never know

There are so many great model that I've seen in person and on message boards over the years, it hard to pick a best of list. but these are some of my favorite builds Bob Downie's, Subaru Brat Bill Geary's, 69 Daytona Alex Kustov's, 64 Ferrari GTO 4399 GT Juha Airio's, 78 Chrysler Cordoba Hiroboy's 1:12 Nissan Skyline R32 GTr
