  1. look at Fujimi's Ferrari Super America compared to Revell's Ferrari Super America. the Revell kit is lightyears ahead of the Fujimi. the Revell is fully detailed. has the correct wheels (the fujimi kit does'nt). the rear proportions are way more correct then Fujimi's version. as for the Japanese not doing new tools of German cars. Fujimi has a current Golf GTI (just GTI here in the states now. VW dropped the Golf name in North America, and they don't call it the Rabbit GTI) kit out there. so although I highly doubt if Fujimi will do the R8. but it is possible.
  2. The Pens will be back next year. and the year after that. we are just beginning to see the start of the Pens Dynasty
  3. GM used to own a small part of Subaru (about 20% stake). Toyota bought GM's stake in 2004.

  5. GM is rushing the next Cobalt to market. and they've announced a new small car. which I heard could be smaller then the Aveo. they've also been testing a 4cyl Camaro. Pontiac will also get there own version of the old Aveo. called, you guessed it. the Pontiac G3 Fords got the Fiesta coming soon. and it sounds like the Mazda 2 is coming state side. as well as the new 6 speed auto, which gets better fuel ecomony. when I get a new vehicle next year the Mazda 2 will be on my list Chrysler is in the worst shape of all of them. the Dakota's dead. they've got a new Ram coming out in a few months. which unless fuel prices go down drastically will be a dud. they are developing a new small car. but I would'nt be cought dead in it. its being designed by Chery motors, and will be produced in China. mark my words. I will NEVER buy a Chinese produced car. NEVER. no matter how cheap it will be
  6. I own a pickup. which I use occationally as a pickup (moved hedges in it over the weekend). but its used mostly as a round about truck. but Its pretty fuel efficient. a 4cyl Ranger. which gets me an average right now of about 27 MPG. I did look at an F150 when I bought my Ranger. i'm happy I made the decision to get with the Ranger. They might as well start engraving Hummers headstone. there as good as dead. they only sold IIRC 3,000-4,000 vehicles total this year. (including H1, H2, and H3.). the Camry out sold the Silverado last month. and it sounds like the Camry will outsell the F150 this month. so it seems like the days of the full-size pickup as sales giants are almost over. Dodge is going to discountinue the Dakota. and it sounds like the Nissan Titans days are numbered.
  7. I've got a few. Hobby Express in Cranberry. always has the latest kits in stock. and at the cheapest price in the region. They also have a great selection of OOP kits. I don't go as much as I used too though. with gas at $4 a gallon its kinda out of the way for me. this shop seems to do well. considering it in the same shopping complex as a Target. and is less then a mile away from a Wal-Mart Esther's Hobby shop in Millvale. best selection of paint in the area. they are mostly a N scale train store. but they got a small selection of kits. this hobby shop is celebrating its 70th year in operation this year. which is something, since it was heavily damaged by a flood in 2004. Hobby Town USA in Robinson Township. this is the one I frequent the most. since its not out of my way and its on my home from school. good kit supply but there $$$$$. decent paint and supply selection. A.B. Charles and Sons. great old hobby shop, they've been around for 60 years. great selection of kits. there a big RC store. I havent been there in years though. its really out of my way. I used to go once a week becouse I used to work in the area. but they closed the manufactuering plant I worked at and I havent been in the area since.
  8. got a new Fujimi VW GTI kit through Model Express. nice kit,
  9. very true. Earnhardt was doing what ever it took to get Waltrip or Dale Jr. that win. I never blamed Marlin for wrecking Sr. and I never will, it was'nt his fault. it just kinda happened.
  10. Great build. nice too see some older Ferrari's built.
  11. good news. I've never built a 57 Chevy. but I will have to buy a 150 kit. I like building mainstreamers, and this one will scream for me to build it. since there are some people in the know here at Revell. what the heck is going on with the 87 Cutlass and 87 Regal kits. it seems like thes kits are all tooled up (Samples at the ihobby show), but was recently listed as "discountinued". have they been delayed like the 57 Chevy or canceled all together (which I hope not, I want to build an 87 Hurst Cutlass, and a drag car out of the 87 Regal)
  12. very true. my 90 year old grandfather drove a few Mercury's in my lifetime (late 80's Grand Marquis, and a 93 Grand Marquis, both bought new). so Mercury's always had the "old Person Car" label attached to it. Buicks got the same problems (my parents had an 87 Century Wagon they bought new, but that was back when Buick was still "cool" with the Turbo GNS). my mom who is in her mid 50's would'nt be cought dead driving a Mercury or a Buick right now. heck, my parents are new car shopping and they are looking at a VW GTi, and a 2008 Honda Civic Si right now. nothing from the big 3 (Ford, GM, and Toyota, I no longer consider Chrysler part of the big three, or four, or even five)interest them right now. since they want a fuel efficient sports sedan.
  13. I disagree. the muscle car wars are back..... and better then ever. and its not all American company's getting into the muscle car game. its the foreign ones too. sure the cars where cool in the 60's and 70's. they had HUGE horsepower. but they weren't all that good of cars. they didn't do a good job transferring that power to the ground. plus the fact that they couldn't handle. and had terrible brakes. that meant you would go fast in a straight line. but you where screwed once you came to a corner. today's muscle cars can do it all. they may not have 400 horsepower but for $25,000-$35,000 you can have something that will run circles around anything from the 60's. plus they don't need to have big gas guzzling V8's. hell Ford has a twin turbo V6 Mustang coming soon that will be as powerful as the upcoming 5.0 V8, and will get 30mpg. Chevy's got a twin turbo 4cyl Camaro that they are working on. the Subaru Impreza STi has 300 horsepower with AWD, meaning you can drive it year round in even the worst of climates. even Hyundai has a RWD 2door coupe coming out called the Genesis, which will be eventually available with a V8 (4cyl and V6 at launch). even with $4.00 a gallon gas the muscle car wars are here and they are here to stay
  14. Plymouth was just a joke when Chrysler killed it off. at least all the mercury's look different. the only difference between the 2000 Dodge Neon and 2000 Plymouth Neon where the emblems. at least the Voyager and Caravan had different grills. as well as the Breeze and the Stratus. the only good thing at Plymouth at that time was the Prowler. which was the only model saved by Chrysler (for a few years anyway)
  15. IIRC its an old Palmer kit, but its prohibably the nicest kit they've ever produced. I've not built one but i've seen them build and they appear to be somewhat accurate, I've got an original MPC build uip that i'm restoring so I'll pass on this kit
  16. Mercury been dying since the they killed off the Cougar in 02 (IIRC). The Murauder brought the company some good press. but the fact that it was 10 years behind the Impala SS did'nt help. I feel the company is too far gone to save. There arent many Lincoln/Mercury only dealers left in my area. they all have merged with the big Ford dealers in the area.
  17. Mercury gone? there is nothing good on the horizon right now for Mercury, no new models on the coming soon. and with the inevitable death of the mountaineer coming. (as well as the Explorer. sales are way down this year). and that the Grand Marquis is gone. that leaves just the Milan (re badged Focus), the Sable (re badged Taurus), and the Mariner (re badged Escape) left and the death of Mercury is coming. at least Lincoln has some new models coming up, Mercury's got nothing.
  18. mines going into the back, I'll save it for my vacation I'm taking in September
  19. I tend to build more over the summer then in the winter months. I have three weeks off coming up in July. so that will be prime building time, since i'm only working 20 hours a week. with $4.00 a gallon gas I won't be going any where
  20. looks great. Izzy, nice build as usual.
  21. SPEED had it highest rated program ever over the weekend..... and it was a NASCAR race. like I said they'll show what gets the ratings, but i'll have too look into that "The Racing Network". looks good if it will happen. I'll still watch more SPEED though since I'm a NASCAR fan.
  22. but odds are that 92 Cutlass is paid off. and the insurance is'nt that high on it. the person that is really hurting are middle class family's with 3 or more kids, driving the family Minivan 300 miles a week to baseball. and soccer, band...etc.... having to keep those kids fed and healthy.
  23. The Tamiya kit looks good. the fact that its full detail is nice. but its going to be a pita the paint that engine. I like the LHD and RHD dash choiced. I'm gonna wait till I see what the Aoshima and Fujimi kits look like when I make my decision on what kit to get. but i'm deffinently getting a GTR kit
  24. what really makes me mad is that it seems like our president could care less about the price of gas. seems like he more worried about what country he going to invade next. We have the oil in this country, but for some reason congress (democrats) won't let them drill there. even though people in those regions would welcome drilling. instead of blaming everyone else for our problems we need to find a way too fix them. GM has the Volt coming out soon (even with a $40,000 price tag there is alot of interest for this), I wish GM, Ford, Toyota, and Dodge would spend money making there fuel efficient vehicles for fuel efficient. seems like there sticking Hybrid motors into Tohoe's and Durango's, which still struggle to get 20 MPG, when they should be making hybrids of Cobalts, Focus, and Caliber's. which could get 45+ MPG's. I think the second coming of the Muscle car is nearing its end. and Chevy and Chysler are late to the party (Like AMC) your gonna start seeing cars with less then 100 hp again. and the cars will get smaller and smaller.
  25. I've been planning on building a super detailed General Lee for some years now. i'll get to it eventually, but to build an accurate General Lee here is what you'll need Revell 69 Charger, for the grill, front bumper, rear bumper. and some parts here an there Revell 68 Charger, for the body, since it doesn't have the molded in vinyl top. AMT General Lee kit, for the decals, but I would recommend looking online and getting some, there is a decal maker who is making more realistic General Lee decals IIRC Missing Link resin offers correct American Racing Vector wheels. For the engine, they never really showed a good shot of the engine. but I would recommend seeing season 1, episode 4 entitled "Repo Men", they show a beat up Charger (which still exists BTW), and they show a very good shot of an engine, in which the Duke Boys would eventually get. thats the route that i'm planning on going with this kit, but the 440 from the kit would also be correct. here's a link to the "Repo Men" Charger restoration that should help you no matter how you build it Clink on the "Lee 1" link but since your just building as a display. get the AMT kit. its not correct but for what you need it for it will work alot better then what I described. plus alot cheaper. BTW, I am a HUGE Dukes of Hazzard fan
