This original MPC kit was found in the box as I was looking for something else . I almost had this one done a few years back, all it needed was install the chrome accesories and put on the decals and somehow it got shuffled out of sight. I think my minds shuffled too😀.I left off the 'POLICE' decal that was to go on the hood as I did the hood in semi gloss .It would probably look nicer with more engine detail , wires etc, but at my age I want to try and build most of what I collected through out the years so I need to speed it up some..

I wish it was the same left and right also but Im not going to put 3 lights on the right and 1 on the left. I will put 2 exhaust on the right so it will have 1 single light left and right. I did a 64 .erc a few years back a have 2 more originals 1 H/T and 1 convert.

I want to do an old style 60's custom with some of the oddest parts ever. Its hard to make the rear treatment look good except to go all in. Smoothed in the rear area by softening the plasic with liquid glue to melt it in then sand it as smooth as I could then a skim coat of filler. Cut up the roof and mold in the crazy front. For ride height , it was easy with wire axles to move the hole up higher, also what made it easy as Im using a motor plug instead of an engine. Its early in so I have alot more sanding to get this Chevy smooth.

This kits been around for awhile and can be built the original BeveryHillbillies truck plus it has the parts to build Jethros hotrod truck. On these kits that can be build different ways I like to build the different versions. The only pain area on the hot rod version was the hood, just when I thought I had it beat with all my trim here and shave there, everything fit without the velocity stacks. When I put the stacks on the hood top would not fit. If I took it apart and put the hood top on first then the velocity stacks the top would have to stay on, I would rather view the engine. Heres my 2 versions of the kit.

Moving along and almost complete Im at the part thats a little difficult. The hood and sides with the side pipes ,injector tubes and grille housing. The 2 front bumpers , headlites and mirrors need to go on and the 2 little windshields. The rear lights were just chrome so I mixed some epoxy and some clear red enamel added for lenses. The running board tops are vinyl pcs. painted body color. Made a few rollbar braces for rear rollbar so it would have the same lean as the front rollbar. Also changed out the headrests from square to round. This was an AMT kit from 2004, this issue did not come with decals. Quote off Rocketfin: - "The kit is a difficult build, in as far as the hood area is a bit tricky. The hood is made up of 5 separate pieces". - Its not bad at all to build, a bit finicky in places such as exhaust and a few pieces that do not have locator holes or pins and if they do they dont line up..but its modeling. -
PM sent Carl.

Thanks and yes I did. I start with Tamiya wood deck flat tan then use assorted Vallego acrylics and alcohol lightly spread in random areas then cleared depending on purpose with gloss or flat. -

Since I already built BeverlyHillbillies truck and I have another kit it makes sense to build the Jethro version. All the info I gathered there were changes in the car depending on what site you got info from. Im going with the first picture. The seat needed backs as they just looked odd out of the box,and there really no interior detail, but some simple evergreen sheet stock helped there.
