    '32 Vic

The '32 was just a fantasy build that can be done with any model kit. The only thing that was kit was the body, chassis engine, most decals and wheels, everything else was parts box or made. Just remember if you lower one part of the kit you have to lower alot more things. I lowered the body which in turn I lowered the radiator. Then shave the trans top to fit after I made the new floor. Had to open the roof for the roll bar even after I trimmed the bottom off. Last I had to find another carb because the hood would not lay flat. The metal screen is called wire form, I bought the aluminum , it comes in brass but that $5 more.
  5. Really nice detail.
  6. Looking good, great look under the hood.
  7. Everything race related either came from the parts box or scratchbuilt. The front bumper evergreen plastic and a piece of chassis from a Nascar kit, therear bumper is evergreen plastic and a cut down palmer kit rollbar. Side bump bars are evergreen . Roll bars are parts box bits and pieces. Tires are resin cast. Everything else is kit. This kit was basically a 32 Vicky kit with fancy box art and race decals. No race parts.
  8. Got everything done except the headers. I also opened up the top. Once I get those headers done and decide on the color / colors I can get this one done.
  9. The 32 Ford coupe 4 in 1 and 32 Ford Vicky 3 in 1 came out with dirt track art work on the box in 2006 I got them right away, only to find out the only thing in the box to make a dirt tracker were the decals and some ideas on a supplement sheet. It did list where you could get the parts ,so on the shelf they went for years. This weekend I decided to build one. I had cast some tires awhile back and found some race parts I can use. Drilled out kit wheels and opened up passenger window. Since the interior is not being used this is the perfect time to lower it a little. So it will also need some correct flathead headers, bump bars, side bars ,roll bars ,tires, floor, etc but it does have nice decals and box art.
  10. Thats different, different in a good way.
  11. I really enjoyed doing this one , of course it had 3 different tire styles and color combos and interior styles but it was fun. Kit was AMT 29 Ford from 2002 when you never knew what was in the box. I had to source some early speed stuff but all parts were comon. I did a little weathering on the body where the exhaust pipe ends and on the pipes at the engine. I also left the hood with the "still working on it" look. Made a seat cover out of tissue,Elmers glue and warm water for the drivers side seat bottom and gave it a plaid look. Seat belts made from tape. Decals are vintage 60's issue AMT '32 Ford. Grille/radiator housinng is also '32 Ford. Hubcaps and tires are parts box. Entire kit in a satin finish.
  12. Yes thats what I mean, a light fog around the image..
  13. I changed tires for the last time, the rears are slightly taller and wider and both front and rear actually look better to me. I also decided to add the hood so it needed a cut-out for sure. I may paint the hood as a work in progress. Chassis was painted Maroon then hit with dull coat. Body is Racing White that will get a satin coat once the decals are on. I dont usually coat over decals but Im afraid of ghosting like I got once with dull coat, not sure about satin ..
  14. I started up a 1929 Ford like the ones they use for The Race Of Gentlemen in Jersey. I always enjoy seeing the cars and bikes they run out there on the coast. Kit is the AMT 29 Ford ( the issue with some Aka Kart parts in it ) '32 grille frame, some speed part came in the kit but the intake was gone for the 2 carb setup, so I borrowed the one from the original AlaKart kis '29 and made a resin copy. I also opted for '32 wheels and tires as the tall skinny ones from the 29 didnt work for me, but as time goes on I may change back.

  16. What do you do with a 1989 era Indy car when you've had it for awhile and it never gets a 2nd look, have some fun with it..
  17. All Indy cars, 40 Ford, XJ220 Jaguar , Dodge Daytona, Ford Probe, GhostBusters parts ,65 Pontiac G.P. and 71 T-bird have been traded...
  18. BIGTRUCK

    Part needed.

I think that door is on a few other reissues of that kit according to Scalemates. Should make your quest a little easier. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-h-1444-rodfather--972839
  19. These are duplicate or duplicate kits I have already built one already and wont build them again..Looking for AMT 55 Chevy any issue or Monogram Chevy car kits...RatFink kits...AWB (new or builders)...Showrods ( new or builders ) front engine dragsters..or semi truck (new or builders). I have many more extra kits ,when I find them I will add to the list. I will trade multiples for better kits. Let me know what you have I may need it and not know it..? and what you may be looking for.. PM me..On the open kits if you need inside pictures just ask. All are complete, may be sealed or open and sealed inside or totally opened, but are complete unless noted. Mercedes (I have 2 of them for trade)and Ford Tri-motor kit is sealed inside. El Camino is complete has some writing on instructions, never started.
  20. I just noticed I put it in the wrong area, needs to be in under glass..?
  21. This was the full glue kit by AMT.Pretty straight forward box build with the exception of tires, I used a triple white walls. Loads of detail painting on this kit.
  22. This is the full glue kit from 1989, its still a curbside build but detailing the roof rack and interior was really time consuming. Next is more bare-metal foil on the body. I need to make a chrome side trim piece for the rear fin...I know I had them both and now I cannot find one of them. The only thing I changed out were the tires, I opted for wide ovak multi thin whitewalls , also added (floss fill)smoke /fog to the roof rack and interior for a ghostly look. Just enough to be able to see through. Body painted Racing White.
  23. Got it done and boy is it long with that Bugatti front clip and sides. Since the new body did not have spare tire cut out , I cut the spare tire half and put one piece on top and the other on the bottom.
  24. I had this Rommels Rod but the body was missing. I have 2 others sealed inside but this one was completely open, so something had to be done with it. Tried the "wanted" section here and a swap meet and of course Ebay looking for a body or junk builder but nada. I had this Lindberg Bugatti forever, the fronts area was pretty close but the middle and back needed to be made. I used the interior and complete chassis including engine from the RommelsRod, the front clip , tires, wheels headlight buckets , trunk, hood and grille from the Bugatti, anything white was made from evergreen sheet plastic, 1/8" tube and various sizes of flat stock. Removed all chrome. The headlight covers fit right onto the Bugatti buckets, also modded the Rods front wheels to the Bugattis tires, the RommelRods tires were smaller, added the German skull hood ornament to the ew grille. Added a few more guns from a 1/35th tank kit. Painted Tamiya Dark Yellow (a tip from member 'showrods' on this forum) Getting closer and the hard stuffs done but still alot to do.
  25. Thanks to all who have helped , but Im going another route without the body using the Rommels Rod parts.
