  1. Getting a little more done on this TV '28 Lincoln. I have 3 builds going at at once, I have not done anything like 3 builds going on at 1 time in awhile. The decals are 45 years old and look pretty good but Im not one to chance them crumbling , all I had was acrylic clear so I put 2 mist coats on them, has anyone used acrylic on decals with good results?
  2. Thanks, I could have saved myself some nerve wear by eliminating all the chrome trim like the box art but its done now.
  3. I can almost hear that CAT running. Im really enjoying watching that city tractor come to life. Great job.
  4. This is another ossone from a short lived TV show in 68-69. Bob Denver drove this 24 Lincoln and MPC made this from the 28 Gangbusters Lincoln and changed the interior and adding a bunch of wacky stuff. This kit has a few of those parts missing but I have another kit that's complete I can cast what I need. The decals I have a color copy but I'm going to have to locate a usable set....I hope.. Here's some info on this kit: Barris includes: V-8 engine, plated luggage wheels, 'L' shaped interior that with that "Lived In" look, horns, hood opens, hood scoops, hollow (mis-matched) tires, flip down step and boot, grappling hooks for fast stops, clothesbrush windsheild wiper and coffee-pot hour glass meter
  5. Why a ladder, why an outhouse door up front and why mudflaps on a AWB whose body is totally stock with the wheel base hidden by some fender skirts. This is a resin copy of the actual kit . You get the body, chassis , interior tub , dash , outhouse door ,ladder, the parts to adapt the interior to chassis and body and mud flaps. The rest is what ever AWB donor kit you want to use ,but make sure it's not one with velocity stacks or you have to cut a hood hole. Wheelie bars are parts box. UNREAL decal are vinyl letters from HobbyLobby, the other decals are parts box. With the release of the Time Machine AWB and an AMT Edsel body plus some skirts it's pretty easy to do... the original kit in the original unique box could go up around $250 -$450. Kit is from 1967 if I remember right.
  6. Got the chassis adjusted where I want the tires to be at and first 2 coats of paint. While this coat is curing I started the Ed Roth/ RatFink figures done and started on the Scooter./ BabyFink. I was going to 2 tone the body but with alot of baremetal foil to do , it may look better a solid color. I bought some 5/8th in. vinyl lettering in yellow to put the "UNREAL" name on the sides.
  7. Since I gave up using air brushes a few years back I'm sort of limited , but not much how funky of a paint job this will have. But when the build itself is as funky as this one what else can you add? Ed Roth ,Ratfink and Baby Fink with a scooter of course. The Roth statue and RatFink are resin items sent to me by good friend DJ Moore aka TECHMAN from this forum, the Scooter is a 3D item and Baby Fink is a piece from a 3 in 1 annual kit. The wacky front out house door mounts were made from evergreen rod and tube. Now for alot of painting and detailing.
  8. Got it up on tires finally. Working with resin and plastic switching from thin to thick advanced power instant adhesive then hitting with a zip kicker without getting your fingers stuck is part of the fun. Now reinforce all the joints with epoxy and when dry sand smooth and hope they all hold. The skirts are a positive fit with an insert made onto the skirt to fit the wheel opening exact. Now get it in primer and on to the rest of the frame and engine.
  9. It's true, that's alot of clear to not smudge paint laced finger prints or melted prints of glue...ah to be young again?
  10. Nice build. Sooner or later I have a 1951 Studebaker bullet nose Starlight coupe by J/F resin to build , but as a donor I will use the Revell Miss Deal
  11. I would love to use a pie-crust style slick for nostalgia reasons, but they would have to be at least wide enough to fit the width without any alterations. These wrinkled slicks may work but may be a height issue being too short. But it will be one of these. Here's a pic of the directions for the odd options if needed.
  12. I retired about 2 years ago and work calls me back 2 sometimes 3 days a week during the summer as that's the busy time for the moving industry, especially a mover with a CDL , but I'm back on the build for a few days.. AMT used the chassis from rhe 65 Chevelle "Time Machine kit" with the original 58 Edsel body and skirts from one of the long body 3 in 1 kits. I extended the dash and package shelf for 2 reasons, #1 it filled in the windshield gap in front of the dash and #2 it gave the body a better resting points than the spacers they provided. Pretty much this can be built with any stock Edsel body , the interior bucket from 65 Chevelle Time Machine because it's wide enough , any AWB chassis and engine without velocity stacks (unless you use and Edsel with opening hood) skirts, the out house door can be made, parts box wheelie bars and moon tank. It doesn't need chrome or glass and there is an entry ladder but why??? ?
  13. That's an awesome collection and some superb building. I like them all.
  14. Giving credit where it's due, all info to help a modeler make a decision on buying or building is much appreciated.
  15. This wasn't that bad to build,I do like the resin offering from J/F better than the AMT version. Flintstone body, Prowler interior tub and seats, parts box door panels, 60 Corvette dash, fit the best, Prowler wheels and tires, SMP Corvette chassis modified width and length, Prowler headlights, Prowler mirrors, epoxy mixed with silver for front lenses, rear lights are epoxy mixed with clear red , glass is clear sheet plastic, little BMF and a few parts box interior items like shifter and steering wheel. Between this info and info from Mad Slammer it's EZ PZ.
  16. Good info to know for sure. It will help someone build this kit alot easier. Just too late for me..?
  17. This is a mix of the (I believe to be the original) Edsel body in resin along with all the tidbits in resin that made it unique. The chassis and interior tub are also resin although since I need the rest of the chassis parts I may just use the plastic chassis and tub from the donor kit. The body was never modified to adapt to the AWB chassis, they just fit it with some skirts to cover the rear wheel opening and that gave the rear wheels the funnycar appearance . The kit kit uses some crazy ideas like the moon tank on top of the fender and a out house door front bumper and a wooden window entry ladderto get in and it has a 427 but the hood is molded in. I dont have decals for it , if I get some fine, if not I dont mind. No body chrome parts or glass are used in this 60's thinking odd duck but the original kit in its 1 of a kind box is worth $$$.
  18. Nicely done..
  19. With the color on , Testors Extreme Lacquer , I moved on to the interior. The tub was narrowed and the panels trimmed to fit, I dont know where the door panels are from but trim fit pretty good ,then the seats were too wide so those were thinned but they kept the shape. Niw to get the dash cut to fit.
  20. Chassis mods worked out pretty good and I can start adding some details to the front of the chassis . It sitting at its lowest stance but I have plenty of room to adjust the other way. Still using the Prowler tires, wheels and headlights. The interior tub is in the body in the picture but thats all it is right now is a narrowed tub.
  21. Number and black stripe are because I went way of the box art.
  22. I think all the chrome trees were common across all the kits and the front and rear bumpers were unique to the kit itself.
  23. Ok here it is
  24. A few days away from building anything gave me a few new ideas, the original Prowler chassis front end was just a way bigger hassle even with omitting the engine. Those control arms were not going to work , they stuck out way too far even with alot of cutting, not saying it cant be done just saying not for me. I found 2 chassis that will work in the junk box, an old SMP Corvette chassis chopped to fit and the red one (not sure what it is)maybe a Monogram item, with a few mods it would be real close but I would rather work with the wire axles. The interior width needed a little narrowing just around 1/8th inch off each side. After clean up new door panels can be made. Not using very many of the AMT Prowler kit parts , mostly interior , a few body items and tires with wheels.
  25. Its a Jimmy Flintstone resin piece.
