  1. Another awesome transformation. Subtle changes to make things look just right.
  2. Excellent transformation. Looks like a Buick kit if one had been done. Never knew Buddy ever drove this car or that it ever existed. Thanks for the info.

  4. Amt kit. 105 hours to complete. This car represents my introduction to Nascar. One Saturday morning when I was 6 years old, I looked out the front window of my parents house, in Hampton Virginia, and saw a beautiful red and black car that I had never seen before. It was parked in front of my friend , Rusty McCaddens house. After my mom forced me to eat my breakfast, I ran down to see what was going on. Some of my other friends had already gathered to see this beautiful car. Turned out it was Rusty's older brother's 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 with continental kit and fender skirts. He had stopped by to show the car to his parents and Rusty. Rusty informed me that he was on his way to the Southern 500 in South Carolina. I said , whats that? I had never heard of it before. He informed me that it was a stock car race run at Darlington South Carolina, that was raced on an asphalt track for 500 miles on Labor Day. I asked him if he was going to race this car. He laughed and said no they were special cars with numbers painted on them that race drivers like Lee and Richard Petty drove. I had no idea who they were. I never got to see his brother but when I went home I asked my dad if he knew about the race and he said he did but he didn't seem like he was that interested in it . But he told me more information about Nascar and said maybe some day we would go to a Nascar race. Needless to say my interest was peeked. I never forgot about this car and finally decided to build a model of it. Its a 62 year old memory so its only basically what the real car looked like. But I think its pretty close.
  5. You're going to have to fiddle with the ride height on the modern revell 1/24 scale nascar chassis. Its way too high for one of those hoonigan cars. In fact its way too high for the current cup cars.
  6. Please explain Ken Block Hoonigan style. Thank you.
  7. Ok, you doth protest too much. Looks like you did an awesome job taming that body. I can see no faults with the overall outcome of the build. in fact, it looks fabulous to me. Probably the best Camaro of this year, I've seen done. You're right, those decals look awesome too. Is that just one layer? If so, congrats to Mark. I'm not seeing any bleed through at all of the white decals on that black body.
  8. Looks great, so far.
  9. Personally not a fan of "after the race look" but excellent build just the same. Awesome interior detailing.
  10. Great work, Dustin. Awesome detail on chassis and engine.
  11. Excellent work. Does that depict the car that he flipped qualifying at Daytona?
  12. Love the white pinstripe you got going on there. Is that decal or tape.
  13. So, what brand and kind of paint do you use?
  14. Looks like Italian red to me. Or maybe Chevy engine orange. That should be an awesome project.
  15. David , check your private messages for my S&H conversion.
  16. Beautiful build.
  17. Thanks, Jim. Well that's good to know. There might be fit issues if the die cast body was used. I once bought a resin impala body that I'm pretty sure was made from a diecast and if you compare it to the revell kit impala body its noticeably bigger. I had to use a 1/24 scale kit for the chassis for it. I did that build before the snap kit revells came out.
  18. Did they cast that body from a diecast body?
  19. Yeah, I had no problem, its just the added hassle of adding the silver or aluminum to block the bleed through is never fun.
  20. Wow, Looks like a lot of work. But I bet it was worth it. Sadly, there are no nnl's in south east texas. Awesome collection you have there, Tim.
  21. Man, I wished I had waited now.
  22. Was the body made in blue plastic or red like the S&H kit had it?
  23. Great job mating body to chassis. Excellent build as usual . Starsky and Hutch kit by any chance?
  24. Excellent paint as usual. Going to keep this one a secret till the end? I haven't got a clue.
  25. You can see why they needed to add a lot more stands to Michigan back in the day. Now the new stands are mostly empty. Texas World was just like Michigan, but it never came close to a sellout. Never got a good weather date. Either too cold in December or way too hot in late june.
