  1. Make sure you either paint the letters white or flip the tire over and use some tire decals from that era. If the letters are raised on the other side sand them off and use decals and then dullcote them so they don't peel off in the future.
  2. You haven't lost your touch, Terry. Looking really good.
  3. Awesome transformation, Tim. Great work being done here.
  4. Awesome job, Tim. Up to your usual top flite standards. Thought there would be a finished thread for this but everybody will eventually see the end result. Again, Beautiful job on the Monte.

    1/64 Nascar

There is no way I could make contengencies for a 1/64 scale car. Let alone numbers and sponsors. That's why I have never attempted it.
  6. Excellent build , Bruce. Love the stance. Paint and decals look perfect. Which kit was that?
  7. Looking awesome, and I'm so glad you did all the fixes, Especially the rocker panels.
  8. Double Wow. You cant just post an awesome car like this and not give us some information about it? Beautiful build as always.
  9. Excellent job, Bruce. Love the stance , very clean, great paint, and decal work.
  10. Thanks, John. Check the link below for more details. It shows the build from start to finish. The truck and trailer that is. http://cs.scaleautomag.com/sca/modeling_subjects/f/33/t/131345.aspx
  11. Tim, not sure, but I think I've seen the Superbird before, but its still one of the best I have ever seen done. My memory is funny. I can remember things form the fiftys and sixtys better then I can remember the last couple of years.
  12. Looks Awesome. Love the faded 0's.
  13. Where do you purchase it?
  14. Looks perfect. What brand of tape is that?
  15. I went to Racing Reference and Hylton drove the #8 Chevy for that race only and then back to the 48 after that. I wonder if Gurney paid him to be able to use the 48 ? Like I said I bet there is an interesting story behind it. Gurney drove for Osterland and James drove for Dickinson in the Riverside 500 so they weren't on the same team or anything like that.
  16. Looking good. Question? Did James Hylton let Gurney drive his car for Riverside? Curious about the back story on this.
  17. Thanks, Larry and Richard. I really appreciate the feedback.
  18. Tim, Its sad that you have to do so much work to make this model look right. One other thing that looks off to me are the taillights. They look like they stick out too far to the rear. Its probably just me. I'm sure you have this thing figured out and it will look awesome when you are done.
  19. Tony, Thought it went together pretty well? This model is freaking Awesome, Super clean build, paint work, and decaling. Off the charts beautiful.
  20. Missed those. Probably more even then that. You would have thought all the Ford teams would have run the Merc.
  21. Yes, slight variations between the 2. Talladega has bars in the grille, and smooth 1/4 sail panels instead of the 3 indentations the spoiler has. Also the hoods are different, and the Spoiler has a lifted area in between the hood and the grille bordered by 2 feature lines. And there might be an extra feature line on the Talladega, running down the upper sides of the car. I personally like the Mercury version better.
  22. Thank you, Michal. I appreciate the reply.
  23. Thanks, Gary. I must say your Camper / midget car race team build gave me a lot of inspiration for this build. It was awesome. The bungis are made from .030 rod and .025 rod with a small rod at the end at 90 degrees to act as a mounting point for holes driiled in the side of the stake bed. They were painted flat black. I blew up the picture, and tried to duplicate them the best I could. Thanks again for weighing in on the build, and the question too.
  24. Thanks, Jim. I appreciate the kind words.
  25. Coming along nicely.
