I'm thinking the bottom of the car was the factory color and the white was added on the upper portions of the car since there was no white offered from the factory that year. If I was going to do it ,I would use Miami cream at the bottom , white at the top and pink numbers with black outlines . The sponsor would be black with white outlines. Looks like they put Greenville at the top of the quarter panels even though its also under the sponsor. Just my guess. If we can keep this thread going maybe someone with a color picture will see it and solve the mystery.

Here's the 49 ford color chart. No guarantee that they kept the original factory color, but back then they usually did. You could do the bottom in Miami cream. And the top in white. Maybe somebody can find that color picture you need.

The cars 3 movie includes Louise Smiths 49 ford. So if they got the colors right you could base your model on this picture. Doesn't seem like its right though. I guess the lower color could be pink or tan. Look at a color chart for 49 ford there might be a clue there you could pick up on

Very nice , Pat. What would be the name of this cartoon character? "Flames Gordon"? Just need to add some flames.

The one that comes in the kit is a pretty good start. Just add some styrene and foam pad here and there, and paint and decal it. Once the model is complete though, its really hard to see the seat, so I don't think most modelers fool too much with it,

Another slm. These are great looking cars. the stripes on the wheels has more to do with scraping then painting. I'm not that good at it either, but im sure someone will fill you in on how it is done. -
Another Awesome one , Tim. I've always loved that year Plymouth. Excellent job chroming the bumpers. Paint and decal work superb as always.

Italian chassis maker Dallara to build Gen 7 chassis for NASCAR

It might not be illegal on a really old car that is designated an antique, but if you don't pass the emmisions test on a car that's not an antique, you don't get a state inspection certificate, which makes the car illegal to drive. I'm not sure what the cutoff point is on the age for an antique. All I know is I haven't seen any 60's Impalas, Galaxies , Fury's or Polara's on the road for at least 30 years now. Maybe they are all gone in Texas. -

There's probably more old v8 American cars over there then we have here nowadays. They've all been outlawed off the road over here. -

Hakan, how many American v8's do you have running over there in Sweden? My grandfather immigrated from Sweden back in 1915 so I figure i'm 50% Swedish. He ended up in Joliet Illinois after he landed in New York. Eventually ended up owning a small grocery store that he was the butcher of. Cool old guy from what I can remember. -

Yup, that's the sound I was trying to remember. One that definitely need a muffler. -
Thanks for the photo. I have never seen her in this car before. This will be a great project.

Man I hope they don't go to v6 engines. They sound horrible. I remember when they were in the busch series. You wanted to cover your ears. not from the noise but the horrible sound they were emitting. When a new mustang or camaro goes by my house in my neighborhood, that the guy has put loud exhausts on, its like why dude? That sounds like kaka. -
Another Awesome one, Tim. Clean and beautiful as usual.

Nascar is so messed up now already, I don't think adding spec motors would be the final nail in their coffin. On a recent truck broadcast, one of the coverage guys said that the trucks were using spec motors. Is this true? Maybe that would explain why Ross Chastain runs up front in every truck race. That guy can wheel a race car errrr …. truck. -

Okay, you had me till you said it would create an unsafe pit road. Getting the crews on and off pit road faster gives them less time out there to get hit. Also it evens the playing field more because its a lot easier to do one nut then 5. I think they need to stick with a Jackman though. Adding hydraulics for jacking would not make the cars cheaper. -
Looks Awesome , Tommy. It may not be Nascar, I'm not sure. But as long as its a stock car, I think they want you to post it here. I put my ARCA builds here and nobody has moved them yet. I believe this is the first Snowball Derby build I have seen posted any where . It's great to see a replica of one and I like that you have the correct Hoosier tires on it. Looking forward to more of your short track builds or any of your builds for that matter.

Thanks, Peter. I figured that micro mark deal was a bad way to go. I hope not to many people fall for it and waste their money. Sad that somebody cant come up with a printer that can print as well as the old alps and at an affordable price.

Man, that's Awesome, Tim. I was just thinking yesterday, I haven't seen any of your posts lately. That paint is amazing.

Thanks Seann. I would like to see things get cheaper and a spec engine if it would allow the drivers talent to show through. Right now, unless your employed by the 3 or 4 major teams, you have no chance to win or even run up front. -

Yes, but you said she had a few wins. 2 is not a few. She use to be all over twitter. Now crickets. Don't get me wrong. I like her very much and was hoping she could finally break through as a top echelon driver in a car that could run top ten every week in the cup series but it doesn't look like that's going to happen now. -
