  1. I use testors 1260 dullcote spray, but I decant it, and put it on with a brush. I only use it on tire decals. I don't know what would happen if I sprayed it on. It might make the decal ink run. Maybe since I put it on with a brush it drys before it can make the ink melt and run.
  2. Another top notch build, Tim. Very clean work.
  3. Yes, I like what if cars as well. I have always wanted to do a Rex White 64 Chevy to see what he would have been in, in 64, if Chevrolet had not pulled out of racing in 63. He was never happy with the Mercs he had to switch to when Chevy pulled out.
  4. Looks like a great job to me.
  5. What brand kit? Amt, Revell , Monogram?
  6. You sure that's not a 1:1 car that you disassembled and took pictures to make us think its a model? This kind of detail is just astounding.
  7. What kit is that? Kinda dark. Almost looks like a Lumina.
  8. Looks beautiful, Bruce. Yes, if you go trying to find Future your not going to find it . They have changed the name a couple of times but the bottle still looks the same.
  9. I just put on the decals and clear with future. I use a big wide soft brush to apply the future. That way I can wait until the model is completely finished before I apply the decals.
  10. Another awesome build , Tim. Super clean, and I like the way you did the roof and gave it a road course stance with right side filler.. The things that add authenticity to a build. Also you don't see a Charger 500 done a lot. Again , a beautiful build inside and out.
  11. Actually his last ride in a cup car was with the Crawford brothers in their 72 Plymouth, that eventually won the Talladega 500, with Dick Brooks at the wheel in 1973.
  12. Man, that's beautiful, Dustin. Great detail work as well.
  13. Touch up the silvered areas with flat black testors acryl from the bottle between the letters . get some testors dullcote clear and decant it into a bottle then brush the dull coat over the whole tire with a large soft bristle brush. It works. I do it all the time but not to correct silvering. I make my own tire decals and print them on white ink jet paper. after I install them I have to use the above process to hide the edges of the decal. It works surprisingly well.
  14. just looked at a ref picture of the real car and it looks like Steve nailed it perfectly. Kind of a darker red then usual.
  15. Looks like the company did a great job on the resin body. Or maybe it was your prep of the body that made the difference. Came out very smooth.
  16. another Awesome one in the making. What kit is that?
  17. Coming along very, very nicely. Detail is astounding.
  18. Yeah, its starting to look that way.
  19. Does any one have any pictures of a nascar monster cup 2019 mustang in primer. The actual car. I was hoping to find some shots during testing but no good ones were available. Need to see what the actual body configuration is without paint or decals including grille ,headlamp , and taillamp decals.
  20. Great job fixing some of the errors of the kit. Actually the front bumper needs to be brought out more in the front as well as be raised like you did it. That's the way I' m seeing the pictures of the real car.at least, but actually the kit bumper isn't correct any way so it doesn't really matter. And thanks for some interior shots and engine shots.
  21. Very nice job , Steve. I'm glad you aren't picky about correctness. Like you say , who looks at the bottom of the finished model and gets out reference books to see if the suspension is right or not. I was going to do a quick version of a 76 ford but the naysayers made me give in and put the trailing arm suspension on it instead of leaf springs. Nobody is going to know or care when I post the finished model whether its correct or not. The front suspension is wrong too but i'm not changing that.
  22. Super nice job , Tim. I always rooted for the matadors. Its that underdog thing I got going on.
