  1. I wonder if they mastered it off of a diecast car. I know my diecast nascar modern 1/24 scale cars are bigger than my modern 1/24 scale revell snap kit cars.
  2. Great job getting that ill fitting part to work. Is that Monogram model 1/25 or 1/24? If the caster was making the part for a 1/24 scale kit and the kit you used was 1/25 that would explain the fit issue. Still a great job on the over all build.
  3. Perfect build . Love the fuel spill stains on the quarter and rear bumper. Paint is magnifico. Photography is top notch. The only thing I see wrong is , absolutely nothing. I agree with you about Powerslide. They are the best I have ever used of the decals I have ever had to purchase and 1000 times better than the ones that I make for my builds.
  4. Thanks, Rob. I really appreciate the feedback.
  5. Wow, Rob. That's is one outstanding build. Looks just like the reference picture. You also nailed the stance. Excellent, Excellent build.
  6. Rob, I think I have that sheet. If I can find it, its yours if you want it. I won it in a contest once but don't really want to do the build, so I have no need for the sheet. Let me look in my stash. If I find it, I will private message you for your address.
  7. Jay, What a totally outstanding build. Topnotch in every way.
  8. Rob, looks like another fine build you have there. Hope you are planning on building some more.
  9. Rob, Another awesome build from your bench. Nice to know those cases will keep the models looking like new.
  10. Cruddy? Well if those are cruddy I guess all of my builds are less than cruddy. Seriously, excellent builds and looking forward to seeing more of your builds.
  11. Excellent start. Glad you're building this with a wip. I need reference for when I get around to doing mine. Haven't decided on which car yet.
  12. Looking Awesome so far. Looking forward to more updates.
  13. Thanks, Mike. I really appreciate the reply
  14. Thanks, Bruce.
  15. Thanks, Carl, Chris and John. I really appreciate your interest in the build. The only bad part was getting the parts apart. It took a lot of careful prying. I have another one of these glue bombs to do but I'm not going to take it completely apart this time. Just remove the engine remove the seat get the wheels apart and get the windshield and backglass off the body. 16. A guy on another site posted a Racers Reunion story link that explains how this car came about. Click on the link below if interested. http://racersreunion.com/community/forum/stock-car-racing-history/32826/on-this-day-june-20-1971-riverside-international-raceway
  17. Thanks, Bruce. I bought a recently released AMT 71 Charger to do this build, but it was one of those "Dirty Donny" kits and I was going to have to do a lot of work to make it look right. The hood is one of those bubble hoods and I would have had to make it flat and I would have had to come up with a nascar chassis from some where, probably a 90's amt nascar kit but that would not have been very authentic. So I'm glad to have found this old glue bomb. What's great is there was also a 71 MPC Richard Petty Plymouth in the bag with it that I will do the same thing to make a 72 Plymouth that was run in 1973. Stay tuned.

  19. Thanks, Jim. I really appreciate the positive reply.
  20. He only ran it a couple of races while his holman and moody mercury was getting ready. I think it was an ex Marty Robbins car. I tried to match the colors of the car from colored pictures of the car from a color video. Every picture of Marty Robbins cars, the colors look a little different.
  21. Yes, its made from small aluminum tubing and hollow rubber tubing used to make necklaces.
  22. This is what the kit looked like back then. If you have one of these kits un opened its worth up to 275 bucks.
  23. Just finished this one. I used a 45 year old build to do the project. It was an old MPC Buddy Baker kit from the early seventys. I took it apart made a few changes and actually painted it for the first time. I saw this car in person at Meyer Speedway in Houston back on a Wednesday night after the Golden State 400. It was called the Space City 300 and it was in June of 1971. Bobby won both races. The project took 109 hours which included making the decals. This is what I started with.
  24. Thanks, Tim. I will save those pics for reference if I decide to do the Fairlane. Did you use the tires and wheels from the Talladega kit or are they from some other source.
