  3. This model depicts the car Curtis Turner won the 1956 Southern 500 in. AMT kit,Tamiya paint, side moldings changed to Customline trim, many scratchbuilt parts, and home made inkjet decals. 84.5 hours to complete the build. Im trying to go back and fix the links photobucket killed so here are 3 of this one.
  4. Excellent job, Chris. You should post it in the Nascar section as well.
  5. Great job so far. I will get one when and if Hobby Lobby ever sells them.
  6. Thanks guys. Did i mention that the kit was only 10 dollars. It was a partial kit I found at a model car contest. Sometimes you can find gold from the vendors at these model car shows. They do not realize that I would have payed twice that amount to get this rare kit partial or not.

    #48 Lowes

You can get them at hobby Lobby with the 40% off coupon for 8.99 plus tax. I bought two of them and plan to fix the front end to eliminate the struts and make my own rear spoiler and shark fin. i will also fix the quarter panels to be even with the front of the rear wheel opening like the current 2011 cup cars. Great job on your build bbowser.
  8. I tried to download the finished pictures of the model this morning but Photobucket wasnt working. Hopefully they will get it fixed by tommorrow.
  9. Here is an out of focus picture taken of the model in an old model case just to show the progress so far. I have the bmf finished on the left side. Still need to do the right side and the moldings around the roof, windshield and back glass.
  10. Looking great, Oldschool.
  11. I got mine from Fred's Resin shop. I did Lloyd Seay's 39 Ford and Rex Whites 37 ford modified using them.
  12. I don't remember Hank but I do remember the Pontiac. it was driven by Don Gay and i used to watch the real car race every Saturday night in Dickinson Texas.. He would race his brother Roy at the end of the night. Roy drove a B stock tempest Don 's Catalina was A stock.
  13. Everything is done except for the front bumper, installing the wheels and tires to the car and bare metal foiling the trim. After that decalling and futuring will finish the project.
  14. Interior, body and frame are together. Just need to assemble the wheels and tires and install the grille , bumpers, tailights, fuel cap and hood and trunk bungi cords.
  15. I just installed the windshield and back glass so hopefully this afternoon I can install the interior and frame to the body.

  21. Hobby lobby has plastic bead string for making bracelets that works good for spark plug wires.
