  1. Wow! I spotted this on Facebook earlier. This is epic news as everyone wants a new-tool `29 rod. And people are concerned about our hobby's future.
  2. This is turning out really nice!
  3. We've gone this long without nice VW engines, I personally can wait until a quality item can be produced. This way it's fair to everyone. Take your time and wait for better weather to cast in.
  4. Actually, that multi-engined Fiat was a model. I remember seeing it in either Model Car Science or Car Model. It was built from parts-packs. And how I remembered that......
  5. Well, I'll be darned! Cool build!
  6. LOL! First picture posted is debated for accuracy !!!!!
  7. It was actually a Bonneville car called the Rhinoceros. It was owned by Noel Black. And yes, odd doesn't begin to describe it…..
  8. There's guys out there that can dress out and finish minute details to perfection. Engine detailing being the cornerstone of most builds. This would be a testimony to not only following a plan to completion, but repeating these engines builds consistently! _________________________________________________ Just to make it clear, this was a photo-chop (what they did before photo-shop) done years ago.
  9. C`mon, anybody interested in having THE stand-out rail at the next get-together?
  10. Nice!
  11. These are the correct lug covers. As posted, Scale Equip. Ltd. is the source. http://www.seltd.net/ez-catalog/X344897/24/24625
  12. I knew a guy who wouldn't tell me what he was building. Very hush-hush about his agenda..... always made me laugh! I'm waiting on my wife then we're off. If I'm lucky I might get some time tomorrow.
  13. I need to overhaul my bench (some day....) and I picked up a few ideas. Nice work area you assembled. Cool builds too! Thanks for sharing!
  14. I was operating under it's own power and INTACT!?!? Wow, we haven't seen one of those out here in a LONG time. They all disintegrated years ago!
  15. Yeah, it's definitely a toy store. I've been opening and closing the shop a few days a week and my responsibilities have been shifting a bit. Having keys and alarm codes is a game changer, not to mention meeting with customers and collecting payments. I've also gone from doing bull-work to following up on final assemblies and making it all pretty and aesthetically pleasing. Yeah, I'm happy! Check out some of our projects that are either completed or in-process….. http://paulsrestos.com/photo/projects/ http://paulsrestos.com/photo/gallery/
  16. The exhaust was completed on a Saturday and returned to the customer the same day. I got no further info.
  17. I've seen build threads with 10,00 views and yet it appears that 8 people are commenting. Don't get discouraged, all those views are quiet compliments. When you seen LOW view amounts, then maybe it's not that interesting.
  18. Funny how some guys have responded, but I've never seen ANYTHING posted by them, not even picturing a model box. Never mind a build....... I realize to some people this forum is like watching TV. You sign on and want to see. I agree, I enjoy nothing more than watching a tech-heavy build. I've butten off big chunks and everyone has watched me spit them out (remember the FIRST attempt at building my Barracuda?). To me, THIS is the kind of "what to do now" building situations people experience. I remember destroying a marker light opening and showing how it was saved. To me, this is real world building, not saving files and editing. Unfortunately (or fortunately.....) I'm been getting more & more responsibility at work and have been getting home late and exhausted. I just wish I could find the time and get back in the groove. Maybe my '70 Cuda wouldn't be sitting for a year.
  19. The chroming might not even be necessary. Once I get a set operating I'm going to test them with & without Alclad. The reflector isn't really needed as there's more and brighter light sources illuminating the opening. Infiniti mounts their rear lamp bulbs directly to white plastic, as do Dakota Digital on the last set I installed in a `78 Firebird Formula. What's stopping me from assembling everything is the stepped-drill I need to mount the bulbs, which is at work, 28 miles away …..with a blizzard about to ruin the next few days out here.
  20. Here's the wiring on the first board. I know it's a rats nest…. but I was experimenting. Now all I have to do is connect all the reds and all the blacks and be done…. except for the diodes and dropping resistor for the taillights.
  21. I used this site http://ledcalc.com to determine the resistors needed on the prototype set. The lights I have now have individual resistors soldered (and shrink wrapped!) to each bulb. All I have to do is wire them in parallel, install the tail light resistor, and diodes. No calculating…. no marathon soldering sessions.
  22. But....But....... Why was there a picture of that little ****head Bieber posted? In reference to 1/2 a 6 pack? Of what, Gerber baby food!?
