  1. Interesting, we're back to valve cover issues! There's many sins in this build. I used some bits-n-pieces from an old destroyed Revell '32 Ford, Including the plug wires, distributor, & valve covers. There's no lower radiator hose or rear shocks either. Thanks for the heads-up (no pun intended...) on the valve covers, but they are most definitely staying. Think I like that antenna on the fender?!? That's staying too! Like I said before, I bet we all make mistakes. My fault for not researching, but in all honesty I did shovel this together. The next one will be better. Thank you for explaining the differences.
  2. Given the right circumstances, yes. I could, and have, stayed up all night. A nice snowy night with some old school Jazz pumping is magic for me. As long as I have cold water or seltzer to drink, I'm good. Now I have to be careful. My hobby room is a tiny spare bedroom adjoining our bedroom. I cant have music going while the Mrs. is sleeping and I'm working. BAD lifestyle changes happen afterwards....
  3. Thanks for the compliments. This was a fun build. A dozen years ago I was very involved in the hobby and built a lot. I'd love to try and get my skills back and this was the jump start. I might do a quick slammer next. Now to get the spray booth up & running....,
  4. I'm please to submit my humble offerings for the section we all hope to post in. I finally finished the Edsel. AMT pre-painted kit with wheels/tires and disc brakes from the Copperhead concept car. I modified the suspension and added some minimal detailing under the hood. I also applied bare metal over the kit silver tampo printed details.. Here she is..... This is my fist build in many years. Now I clean up the bench and do one a bit more involved. Thanks for looking.
  5. I have an update on the Edsel: Go to the Under Glass Section!
  6. Didn't you own a more pedestrian version of a Focus years ago? Is this what you secretly envisioned doing? Did Bill Kilbys Falcon inspire you? Whatever the inspiration, thats s pretty cool build.
  7. Fantastic workmanship. John definitely has some skills. Looking forward to seeing this wrapped up.
  8. Way cool Rich. That's a car and a half! For a kit with soft detailing yours pops nicely.
  9. I've been calling this a lesson in craftsmanship for pages now, and it keeps getting better. At this point are you going to wait for the upcoming Revell new-tool 'Cuda body , or are you going to bend & beat that puppy into shape yourself? Bill, please carry on. This is friggen epic....
  10. I'm with Infiniti actually, and the M & G series are nice. Everything else (except for Nissan's 370 & GT-R) is beyond fugly.... Aztec owners make fun of them.....
  11. Goes to show how each models value fluctuates. I have 2 mint 1968 Barracuda promos in Red that I think I paid about $45 each for them. But I'm yet to see a Blue '68 for less than $400..... I can replace all my grilles & headlight bezels on my 1:1 car for what that promo will probably sell for. That is IF I had the spare coin.
  12. Just wanted to mention I just recently tried Future on glass for the first time. I swabbed it on with a Q-tip and it leveled out nicely with great clarity. It made the glass look so much more realistic. I'll have to try it on a painted finish next.
  13. Awesome! Good for you! When do we see a Factory Stock replica of it, or is that even possible for you? <Said in a friendly, teasing manner. I know Terry.... I don't think Terry builds ANYTHING stock....>
  14. FWIW: On a recent episode of How It's Made on the Science Channel they covered injection molding. Maybe it can be searched and viewed on-line. Found it: http://science.discovery.com/tv-shows/how-its-made/videos/how-its-made-mini-episodes-miniature-train-cars.htm
  15. Hey! I work for Nissan and let me tell YOU something..... That Corvette is no where NEAR as ugly as Nissans! Actually, I like the wagon-ish hatch look.
  16. OK..... How did you build the steering knuckle ?!?!
  17. Wow! Sweet pair of cars! Beautiful fit & finish!
  18. Awesome job on the bodywork. That thing is absolutely insane, which it just about right for you. I really enjoyed seeing your projects at the club meetings & functions, always something original. The Barracuda is doing good. Looking forward to bringing her out of hibernation in a few weeks. If I can ever afford the Tremec 6 spd swap I'll run it out to York one year for the musclecar show. As it is now I'm only knocking down about 12 MPG highway..... What toys you driving these days?
  19. Nice job Rich!I really like the lakes pipes & continental kit. Now lets see that caddy.....
  20. Could this be the spiritual rebirth of the original Morgan? I could definitely see myself getting one if its what its hyped as. Just makes sense. And cents.... My Wife says blue or black....with tinted windows.
  21. Wow!!! I drive about 45 miles a day and currently I spend about $65 a week on gas. I wonder how soon it would start paying for itself? Plus I could park it under my deck..... Unrelated, but a few days ago I spotted a different 3 wheeled car in traffic here in Queens,NY. It appeared to be brand new and very boxy. I think this may be the next craze. And used as intended, might work.
  22. Terry, is that the Polar Lights body? I have a pro-mod started using that body too. Great job as usual! Something else I should finish.....
  23. Does that mean your going to put the steel wheels with Dog Dishes on that '66 Valiant promo of yours ? <just kidding...>
  24. Welcome Terry! Haven't seen you & the gang in a looooong time! Great looking Olds. Me & Amy send our regards to you & the Mrs. Hope Lyle posts some of his work. Terry can BUILD.
  25. Yeah, when Rich does an interior it always looks inviting! But at the risk of being publicly flogged, I have to correct you as Richs car is green. There's a black Edsel in another thread that's almost done though..... How's it coming Rich? We almost there yet?
