I hope I don’t disappoint you guys but I was seriously thinking of painting the tank black. All the ones I see up here have been black …….🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

A little more progress, very little bit progress none the less , added the hand rail, filler lid, and vent, it is starting to look a bit busy now

Man , you guys are on to cool stuff, sadly I don’t have a color printer for plates. But yes the side panels on the Ford C kit are really plain and a decal would be a good quick simple solution. License plate decals and safety placards are things that would be really welcomed.

Link-Belt HC-218 Truck Crane

Such precision and an absolute pleasure to watch this. I am so glad you are back at the bench. I’m looking forward to the next update….. -
Thanks for the very kind words , Tom. Yes, the 3d printing details are off the clock for sure. There are a fair number of small delicate parts on tjis conversion, the burners being the top ones. I have to be really careful not to break anything, and yes we used to see a lot of these around our area as well back in the day. I also agree with trying to find the skills to learn the 3d show, and for this old dog it may be a bridge too far at this stage of the game. With what you are doing on the crane and the fine details are absolutely mind blowing, and so accurate. When I saw the booms you made , the thought crossed my mind that I guess you stayed in geometry class instead of skipping out, to chase chicks and drink beer ! Thanks for checking in. I hope to show more soon…

You nailed that one JM...looks like the penultimate farm truck, with the wooden box, for grain or hay, and the colors are perfect for a hard working truck, that doesn't get a lot of daily love, but is always there to serve the fields...with a little rust on the door, and the dirty stack ......... well done, nice conversion , I like this a lot !

Thanks , Jeff. Yes Jurgen’s design didn’t miss any details and he managed to design this just by looking at a few not so good photos I found to show him what I had in mind. There is more to go and some really nice details yet to mount. Thanks for checking in.

Thanks Mate. Mostly down to you that this came together. I thank you and admire your design skills. Amazing

A little more done on the tank. Got the burners installed, and as simple as they look , they proved to be a bit of a challenge to get right, but some quality time at the bench, some patience, and going slow so as not to break anything, I got them where tjey are supposed to be. Now tje challenge is to NOT break them off. 🤔🤔, also added the ladder, still more to add but it is slowly coming together… the propane jug is just sitting there to see the fitment and added a small fitting for the SS1 line to the hand wand….

A genius idea and extremely well executed. Love the new look !

Every update is a gem, Brian. Great stuff ! -
Thanks Michael, I’m still chipping away at this, working on the interior and still waffling on cab color. Hopefully I can speed up a little. But am moving forward albeit slowly 🙄

Now that’s pretty cool , Ron. Thanks for sharing those photos ! Yeah. A rare one to be sure with the sleeper. Curious as to what the story behind it might be. That is another idea for a different build. Thanks for checking in pal.

Thats a unique build. Looks like a hard working old school day cab. Something about a working day cab that is just right. Nice conversion.- 6 replies

This is just getting better and better. Love the steelie drivers, that makes it look like a worker , love this. -
Thanks Brian , yeah a little bit fiddly but a lot of fun but not without one or two minor challenges that keeps a guy thinking. And to be careful not to get ahead of myself. It sure will be a unique truck on my shelf

Thanks pal. It looks way better in real life and will really shine once on the truck. The detail is fabulous…

A small update here. It doesn’t kook like much but it came with a little trepidation and great care to make sure I got it right the first time. Mostly due to using the unforgiving CA glue and some fragile pieces. Anyway I pushed ahead and added a few little bits to the control box like flow knob and a few ‘toggle’ switches. I also completed the work platforms with the propane tank holder ( still need to add the upper hold strap ) and added the main spray bar and attached the plumbing. Jurgen’s design and Bren’’s printing is very precise so I had to really be careful and be accurate ( because of the aforementioned glue we all know about ) the end result is going to be really good once painted ( to hide my sloppy glue work ) . Putting these pieces took about 4 hours of absolute pleasure and enjoyment. The fitment is near perfect.

You did a GREAT job on that trailer JM !! And in lightning time as well. It is a bit of a difficult kit to get everything line up straight and correct but you nailed it. I’m excited for the new cabs too. This will be a great addition to the convoy. -

That looks amazing ! How did you get the paint lines so sharp and no bleed through? It would have taken me a month to mask that tight and sharp and I still would have had bled through. Masking corrugated side walls is a huge challenge to get right. But you got it perfectly !
