Biggu replied to cifenet's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Wow, Steve. You are polishing this into a real gem ! Some of the corrections seem small at first glance but makes a HUGE difference in the long run , this is a real beauty. Your attention to the fine details are paying off big time. Love the updates, well worth book marking for a future build. Keep going. This is great. -
I certainly could take it apart and see what the issue is for sure. Probably should. š

I like the āspotā light one. Something like that would work. Iām kind of cheesed off that my go to light walked off the job but I guess they donāt last forever. Thanks for the pic
-
Thanks. Didnāt want to beat a dead horse i it had been asked and answered. Just that there are a āplethoraā of lights out there and things change daily it seems.

My apologies.

My trusted bench light has 'given up the ghost' , as my old dad used to say....it was a real good one, and halogen, it was easily adjustable to lower or raise as I needed, I am going to have to look for a replacement, I am just curious as to what you guys use... I already have one with a magnifier, and I would like something that is fairly direct light, and bright..... and adjustable..... so any ideas would be most interesting...

That was a great update, Steve. And , donāt look at the pe IP as ācheatingā , the guys that build airplanes use massive amount of pe and pe instrument panels all the time and they donāt think its cheating. Those CTM sets are awesome and really high light the interiors beautifully. This Pete is a beauty. On our tractor where I worked , instead of a ādeck plateā we had some spread plate with some very short angle iron along the 4 edges. We used to throw spare chains there sometimes ā¦. Maybe a āscreenā material instead of the solid plate would work? Looks realistic and see thruā¦.. ? Just a random thought. -

Wow. You are really moving fast with this one. Love the way the air cleaners turned out, they look great as does the headache rack. Good job bud. -
Thanks Steve, Iām just playing around with some extra details. The paint wasnāt too bad actually. I used Model Master RAF Trainer Yellow enamel. I had a grey primer under it and maybe that helped. Thanks for checking in and the kind comments.

Yeah, I have, he is dealing with a few health issues at the moment as he mentioned above, but seems to be happy and upbeat, just not a lot of time to dedicate to the bench for now...... I'm sure he will be back before we know it... I miss him here... -

What a great update, Steve ! This is a great tutorial and well worth book marking for future builds. This is quickly becoming a real gem. Your attention to details and the mods, even the smallest ones is making this a superb and accurate build. Excellent updates and as Brian said, your photography skills match your building skills. A real joy to watch. -
Thanks. Progress is a bit slow. LOTS of research happening. Its a challenge to do it justice. Thanks for checking in. I appreciate that.
-
Thanks, Randy. Imm āhopingā that a little weathering will make them pop a little more. That I think will be a bit of a challenge though. And yes that engine is huge and hopefully it will come a little more alive with some weathering as well, I did add some smaller bits to it and hopefully they will show, thanks for checking in , and the kind comments , Randy.

Steve , this is very quickly becoming an Epic build ! The extra scratch work is s tutorial in fine details. And I have to keep reminding myself this is not 1/25 but rather the much smaller 1/32. That is a whole new adventure in what you are accomplishing here. And everything looks to perfect scale. That also is a major feat to some. I hear you on the bolt thing. Once started itās a bit hard to know where to stop. This build is looking really good and when under a splash of paint and a little weathering it will be a stunner . Love the up dates.
